This is a cool place. Kind of a hipster, independent grocer. Huge beer selection, and everything just hits the shelf. I found some pretty cool things there.

After i told a bunch of BA'ers that i was going to be in the flint area for the weekend they recommended this store to me and i have to say wow i came back twice, two hours later and a hundred dollars poorer i walked out a happy man.

Ended up buying 2 hellhounds here! oh yeah.

Make sure you pay attention to the date of the beer that you pull out of the six pack because some are past date and with low abv are not good, also look at the label and make sure its the right beer i ended up with a tommyknocker maple beer that i didnt want...crap

I will be back again.

Great selection of craft and imports from around the world. Most of the brewerys in Michigan can be found here as well as any other craft brewery that distributes to Michigan. One wall of beers in coolers and two aisles of warm stuff. They also have homebrew supplies and some glassware.

The only gripe I have is they have a lot of IPA's on the shelves warm.

Nice clean store with great atmosphere. Service is also great. They also have a great wine/liquor selection and gourmet food if you're interested.

Stopped by on 2/09/10 and was very impressed with the large selection of pretty much everything (Gourmet Food, Wine, Beer, Deli, etc).

I headed straight for the beer selection and was impressed with the selection of beers and the fact you can buy singles of any of their beers, that gets huge marks from me.

I bought 13 singles beers I have never had a chance to have before (Bell's Third Coast Ale, Prima Pils, etc), plus bought some pickles, chocolate, and a sandwich.

Also great service and a really nice atmosphere too.

Highly Recommended and I will be back.

Oliver T's is the only place in the area with a decent craft beer selection. They have a pretty big selection ranging from Michigan brews to international ones. They also have a few homebrew supplies as well as selling me empty bottles at cost, I really can't complain. They sell singles of anything at a relatively good value. They also have a wide selection or wines and liquors as well as one great deli and bakery. Although it's sometimes hard to find an employee aside from the ones manning (womaning) the register, Oliver T's has a great atmosphere and every visit is worth taking the time to browse, smell, and take everything all in.

For my surrounding areas Oliver T's is definitely on the top of my list. I was completely impressed with this store. The selection of import beers was incredible along with the craft beers. All the shelf beer is organized by country allowing you to find what you want easily. A good amount of beer was in a cooler also giving you the obvious option of having your beer cold. Another great benefit for me is I'm a home brewer and they had a decent selection of brew kits and equipment. A very nice selection of glassware was also available. In the back they had a taste test room where I was allowed to try certain samples for $1. You will not be disappointed if you take the trip here. I will definitely be returning. With the quality of the selection be prepared to spend some money. It's hard to walk away with just one beer.

I've stopped in here many times over the past few months and every time I buy less and less. It seems to me that they keep raising their prices every time I come, to the extent that I never find a real bargain here anymore. I understand businesses have to make a profit, especially a gourmet place like this in a downturn economy around the Flint area. I saw Bourbon County Stout 4 packs here for 20.99 when they first came out, and yesterday they were 23.19 a 4 pack. Other beers are always priced a dollar or two higher than regular party stores in the area.

That being said, they have a pretty good selection of beers to choose from. Just keep in mind you will pay a premium for them to offset the cost of the gourmet aspect of the business.

Oliver T's is hands down the best place in the Flint area to buy beer. Their selection is impressive, and I had to stop there on a trip home. They have many beers from Michigan breweries, including varieties from Bell's, Dark Horse, Atwater, Founders, and many others. There are also many beers from Dogfish Head, Great Lakes, Avery, and Rogue. But, even better than this is the huge selection of English and Belgian beers. They had four different varieties of St. Bernardus, and many other beers that I have never even heard of. There are sacrifices for the selection though, as some of the beers I considered getting were a little on the old side. Also, some beers seemed to be very expensive (Bell's Expedition $17), but others were reasonably priced. I didn't really interact with the staff, but the girl working the front counter had no idea what she was doing. She shook my Fantome all up looking for a bar code, and then keyed in the price from the price tag on the cap. All in all I was kind of disappointed with my visit, but there isn't a better place to go for miles around.

Wow, I cannot say enough about the selection of this place. This is my beer mecca. If you're anything like me, you'll want to spend the entire day here looking around at the massive selection. It is probably not a stretch to say that they have some kind of beer from any brewery that distributes to and in Michigan. They have anything from Bell's, Founders, Dark Horse, Great Lakes (and not just some of those, but many many varieties from these excellent breweries) to St. Bernardus, to a huge selection of Dogfish Head and Rogue. Unibroue, Rochefort, Orval, Great Divide, and Avery make their presence known as well. Everything I have gotten from here has been fresh, but then again there are many hundreds here that I have not tried. Nicole, the woman in charge of the beer stocking and reordering, has been more than helpful. If you are within a few hour drive of this place, make the trip.

Oliver T's has a great selection of a variety of brews, from the mass produced corporations to microbrews to rare imports. The selection varies from beer that is stored in fridges to several aisles of beer kept at ambient temp. The beer is generally fresh, plenty of "beer advocates" shop there so the supply is restocked frequently. Notable features include a wide selection of beer available in keg form, the ability to purchase by bottle, and all the other stuff they sell in the store...from wide selection of liquors to wines and fine foods. Also, recently home brewing equipment (though minimal) is sold there. The employees are helpful and nice.
Lastly and probably most important the price vs. quality and all other things noteworthy: Oliver T's is a respectable establishment that I always go back to when I crave a quality brew when in the area. I highly recommend it to anyone who prizes a true, quality brew.

While visiting my wifes family in Flint/Flushing area, I decided it was time to explore the treasures of local micro's from Michigan. Finding that the only beers I could easily find (most stores) was Bells, I decided I needed to look a little harder. Happened across the BeerFly for this place and decided that I should check it out since it is maybe 15 minutes from were we are staying.

I was not disappointed. In fact, I was thoroughly impressed. What started as a mission to find Arcadia, Bells, New Holland, Kings, and Founders (among a few others) ended up being a $100 trip through Belgian and England with a short trip back East. I was amazed that I could find beers here that were brewed on the East Coast but seem to be unattainable or unavailable. I purchased several bottles of St. Bernardus ABT 12 ($3.99 per 11.2oz bottle) and Prior 8, some Rochefort 8 ($6.49 per 11.2oz bottle), DFH Burton Baton ($4.29 per 12oz bottle), some Goose Island, Pyramid, special edition Rogue offerings, a couple French farm house ales. This on top of nearly every offering of Bells, Arcadia, Founders, and New Holland. When I mean everything, I mean everything but the rarest of the rare (special batch's etc.) was available. Bought 6 packs of the Bells Expedition Stout and Founders Breakfast Stout. The best part of it all is they do not mind if you break up 6 or 4 packs. So you can pick and choose. The only down side if there is one is that there isn't more cooler space so most of these beers are on shelves. Very easy to find what you need once you get past the awe inspiring nature of it all. Seriously.

The store also has a wonderful selection of wines, sakes, and distilled spirits. The deli and pastry counters make wonderfully tasty morsels that are easily washed down by the wonderful beers. This store is a gourmet lovers dream and I am sure to head here every chance I get when I am in MI.

Was in Flint eating a restaurant with my girlfriend's family and asked a few people in the restaurant what the best beer source in the area was...they all said Oliver T's, so I decided to check it out. Boy was I surprised! I didn't expect the great selection they had at all. I'm from NC where many of the best micros are not even distributed, so I was like a kid in a candy (beer) store. As others have said, a great selection of Belgians and English brews, but I was there for some Michigan specialties. They also had just about everything from DFH, including WW Stout, Raison D'extra, and Golden Shower. Picked up quite a bit of Bell's, Founders, and New Holland. Also got some Great Lakes offerings from Cleveland. Would have liked to see more of the selection in the cooler though. Prices were very reasonable, and 6- or 4- pack splitting was nice for my sampling purposes. I'm hitting Cork 'N Ale in Saginaw tomorrow, but I can't imagine there being a better source for beer in the tri-city area. Highly recommended, and worth a bit of a trip.

I was in Grand Blanc for the Buick Open yesterday and stopped by Oliver T's afterwards. Very cool looking and large art deco style building. Tons of gourmet items like a bakery, spices, wine, cigars, etc.

But I was here for the beer, and the beer selection was astounding! I thought I knew something about most of the Belgians that I'd be able in Michigan but this store had more Belgians that I had never heard of or knew anything about than I could believe. Great American micro selection (except no Kuhnhenn or Dragonmead) and also an amazing English beer selection. Other Asian beers and Eastern Euro beers were well represented as well.

Service was decent. They were nice and one guy got me an empty six pack but they didn't offer any advice or help while I was staring wide eyed at the selection.

Watch out for some older beers (Maverick IPA was there and so was Founder's Noble Lager!) and some dust. But their fridge selection is solid and most of the beers look in atleast decent shape. If I lived in Grand Blanc I think I would live in this store. Definitely a must visit when in the area.

Always doing my research before I travel (which is not too often), I found this wonderful establishment via the few reviews it had at the time. I was traveling to Flint and this was just a few minutes away from where i was staying. The cool vintage look on the outside (think 50s diner) sets the stage for your journey into this fine delicatessen which is also the purveyor of quality wines, liquors and of course, BEER! Living in Florida, I don't see alot of the more regional microbrews, and there were plenty from Michigan alone that I was eager to try. Their import selection is very wide with lots of belgians, including trappists (Rochefort series, Westmalle Dubbel, Tripel, Achel). I was tempted by the Deus, some Cidre Bouché Brut De Normandie, and a 3L bottle of Corsendonk, but alas, space was somewhat limited as I was to be carrying all of my purchases on the plane with me. I ended up bringing back 41 12oz bottles and 4 bombers, all of which made it safely home. Most of the prices are very reasonable with very few exceptions and their service is good on all levels (especially organization and shelf presentation which helps with such a large selection.) I wouldn't be surprised if their deli, speciality grocery, wines, and other products were outstanding as well, but I was there for the beer and I really couldn't have been more satisfied.

Very cool place. When I am at school in Flint, this is my sole resource for good beer. Cool vintage feel to the place, especially the outside of the building. Beer is organized by country of origin. Absolutely outstanding selection of Belgians, along with a great selection of English, Scottish, and Irish beers, some Germans and other countries. Domestic micros leaned heavily toward Michigan brands, but some good stuff from Ohio and the rest of the nation were present as well. I was impressed by the hearty array of Rogue beers. When the beer guy walked by, he informed me that if I wanted a single, I was welcome to break up a 4 or 6 pack. That was pretty cool. There are some empty six-packs in the back fro mixing and matching. There is also some nice branded glassware back there. I picked up a Maudite goblet and my friend came home with a Trois Pistoles one. The store also had tons of liqours, wines from all over, and a walk-in humidor if you are looking for things other than beer.

EDIT: Oliver T's has recently started selling homebrewing supplies. They don't have any all grain equipment that I could see, but all kinds of stuff for extract brewing and also for wines. There were different kinds of cappers and corkers, and a collection of carboys as well. I didn't ask if they had grains or hops somewhere else, but I didn't see them.

Lots of beer!

Nice little gourmet market near Flint, Michigan. It was quite the haul, but I'd heard that they had some older, harder to find items, so I went up looking for them. Reasonably priced, but ancient and dusty, the beers I got were sold to me for 10% off courtesy of the nice folks working there.

It looked like they had a good selection of cheeses, olive oils, and spreads -- not spectacular but, frankly, much better than I would have expected for a little place that looks like a 50s diner -- with the blocky neon capital letters and block glass windows -- from the outside.

I bought them out of a lot of their older offerings, but they still had a little Lindemans 94 Cuvee Rene -- a treat among treats as far as I'm concerned. All in all, a good selection, including some newer beers -- Founders Black Rye, Ommegang Witte, etc.
