Bottle Notes- 500ml --> "This full strength beer, matured with Whiskey Oak for 3 months, then blended with a dark English ale has a full Malt character with subtle hints of Vanilla & Whiskey."

Appearance- A deep dark brown, almost black. A low head retention and low apparent carbonation. The head although brief is a standard 1/2 inch on my pour.
Smell- A moderate roasted malt body with a slight chocolate and a slight whiskey nose.
Taste- A big roasted malt body from the English ale I assume and a nice background of whiskey providing all the pleasant characteristics without the burning. A decent mouthfeel with medium body and appropriate carbonation. A pleasant mix and blend.

500 ml bottle poured into a glass mug

A: Pours a rich dark brown with strong hues of red poking through when held up to the light.

S: Roasted malt faint whiff of chocolate and dark fruit and a strong alcohol presence.

T: Roasted bitterness and alcohol are the two most predominant flavors. There is a noticeable malt backbone but it almost gets lost in the lingering bitterness and alcohol heat.

M: Medium body with light carbonation. A bit watery with slick lingering finish.

D: Somewhere between a sipper and an easy drinker. could be a bit cleaner in flavor and mouthfeel.

Cherry-wood brown with dark red highlights. Very small off-white head that disappears almost completely. Nose of roasted malts, ash, peat and alcohol. Slighty buttery at first giving way to a more roasted malt flavor. Smokey finish with an alcoholic aftertaste. Looks flat as paper but the carbonation is right on. Could use a fuller body. I had given up on Green Man under the old brewer. Glad I picked this one up at the Celtic Festival. Here’s hoping the new brewer can keep improving and expanding the GM range.
