Very dark black with a persistent tan head.

Roasted malts (but not enough) with a hint of caramel. Solid yeast fruitiness. No hop aroma, no diacetyl.

Quite sweet with a strong fruitiness in the form of yeast esters. Some dark grain and roast bitterness. Hint of coffee. No diacetyl.

Medium full body with medium high carbonation. Mouthcoating.

A solid beer but lacking in roast flavours. Some more of those would make this a more accurate version of a tropical stout.

500ml bottle- Tall glass with a best by date of September 2009.

Appearance- A deep black, limited amber tints. A small head that receeds into a tan ring and properly laces a glass. Low apparent carbonation.
Smell- A nice subtle blend of roasted malt, chocolate, and dark fruit. I believe cherries and dates are in order.
Taste- Deep body that mimics the nose. To note there are limited roasted malt taste here especially considering other English Stouts. Somewhat sweeter than one would expect to balance the roasted character.
Mouthfeel- A smooth full body. Low carbonation and slick.
Drinkability- A fine Export Stout, one you'll want to sip all day.

500 ml bottle poured into a glass mug

A: Very dark brown, opaque, with a thin tan head that quickly dissipates.

S: Roasted barley, coffee, hints of dark chocolate, dark fruit like plum and a noticeable amount of alcohol.

T: Roasted bitterness, firm malty sweetness and heat from the alcohol.

M: Medium to heavy body with light carbonation. Finish is somewhat lingering but doesn't exactly coast the tongue.

D: A sipper, but not a slow sipper. Definitely not something to throw back in mass volume but not hard to drink a glass on a cold night.

A - Pours a very dark brown, verging on black with a few centimetres of light tan head that slowly falls away.
S - Strong dark fruit aromas partially derived from dark malt and esters. Some chocolate and roasty hints. Some vauge alcohol notes.
T - Chocolate up front backed by dark fruit touches with some roasty hints.
M - Smooth , medium bodied with quite a low carbonation. Lingering dark fruit sweetness.
D - A tasty stout. Not something to rave about but I'd drink it again.
