A: Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a beercan-shaped pint glass. The beer is a light brownish akin to oak and possesses a medium haziness that doesn't render it totally opaque, but gives it a nice texture. The head was off-white, 1-finger thick, and constant throughout the drink. Nice lacing.
S: Immediate impression of this beer on the nose was akin to that of a lager: malt-forward with very little hop aromas. Coriander, french toast, orange, caramelized malts, barley, and a hint of hop bitterness are all found in the aroma. It is not a wholly unappealing aroma, but if I were to blindly whiff this beer, I would peg it as anything but an IPA.
T: There is a lot of bread in this, with oats and barley up-front, and a yeasty finish. Aftertaste is dry and a bit floral, with a slight sediment flavor. It tastes a bit like the earth, with some dirt, grass, and bark flavors in there. Other flavors include pumpernickel bread, allspice, a hint of cloves, some leather, and a dry, dirty aftertaste.
M: Crisp and crunchy in the mouth, with a well-defined feel. The swallow and afterfeel are notably bitter, with a hollow tannin feeling that sets into your jaw. This is the only part of the beer that truly resembles an IPA.
O: For an English-style IPA, it's quite good. If I was rating it as an all-around IPA, however, it would be middling. A nicely-constructed beer, with obvious care and good concepts, but as far as styles go, English IPAs just aren't my thing I guess.

500 ml bottle poured into an oversized wine glass
A: Pours a clear deep gold with big fluffy white head
S: Smell is interesting and pleasurable. If you are looking for citrus hop profile you wont find it in this beer. Instead it smells floral, with notes of hay and grass.
T: Bitterness all the way through, but not resinous or oily. notes of the aroma linger on the finish.
M: Medium body medium carbonation
D: I could drink a lot of this. welcome alternative to the standard citrus and pine hop bomb IPAs from the states.

Moderately-high, piney, citrussy hop aroma with some slight resinous character.
Good clarity, amber colour with a big, fluffy white head. Nice lacing.
Moderately-high bitterness teemed with a moderate hop character. It is lacking either a bit more malt to help balance it out or some more hop character to give it a juicy hop note.
Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Suitable for style.
An okay IPA. I like I a little more hop flavour and just a tad less bitterness so this seems a wee bit off the mark.
