Ok, so I decided to scope this place out, figuring that this place might be just as good as the other Belmont in the area, on South Bend Ave. It's not. The selection is way behind the other stores in the area (Belmont on South Bend Ave, City Wide on Grape, and City Wide on Jefferson). They had some Stone stuff, a bit of Bell's, some FFF, and some Avery. Other than that, they had a handful of random beers as well. Maybe I'm being too critical, but the selection is not up to par. The service was fine in that no one was mean to me, but nobody offered to help/suggest things either. This is a fine place for a quick liquor run or to grab some mainstream stuff, but you might as well go to CityWide or the other Belmont in the area.

Just a few minutes from the highway, if you are just passing thru.

Typical box of a place, ample BMC all over the place. The good stuff you are interested in is located in one cooler unit section and stored on a large shelving unit. Looks like lots of the more interesting stuff, sadly does not move here , so be sure to check for freshness dates where present, watch out for dusty cans/bottles and pick up something thats refrigerated and likely sells pretty well. My sixer of Zombie Dust was canned just a few weeks before my visit and was in fine shape.

Friendly but clueless staff. Nothing overly exciting going on here, but you will be able to find some worthy beers.

Corner location with ample parking in lot surrounding the place.

I stopped in here on my way through South Bend. What a gem it was! Large beer / wine / spirits store with an upscale atmosphere and a great selection of craft beers of all types. Lots of nationally-available brands, plus many local and regional brews. There were a few harder-to-find items as well. Good selection of individually-priced singles, too. Friendly and helpful staff, eager to assist you with finding what you're looking for. This place is worth going out of your way to visit. Not to be missed if you're in the area.

This has become my favorite beer stop in the Michiana area. Great location near the Notre Dame campus on US 31/33, 2 minutes from the Notre Dame exit on the 80/90 toll road. Clean, well lit, plenty of parking and a nicely laid out store. Quick and easy to get in and out.

They've just remerchandised their craft beer area (with lots of Beeradvocate.com ratings and shelf-talkers by the way) and while this store does not have the largest selection in the area, their selection of top tier beers is excellent.

You can find nearly the entire product line for Stone, Dogfish Head, 3 Floyds, Rogue, and Bells. My only criticism is they've only got a so-so import selection (definitely more American craft beer oriented), but did have an especially good breadth and depth to their selection of Belgian Ales - Duvel, Chimay, Rochefort, Westmalle, Delerium etc.

What I especially like is they have a great selection of bombers and had single bottles available for most of their craft, micros and imports. You can also create your own six-pack samplers, by mixing and matching single bottles of any size (bombers, 750's, and 12 oz's) for a 10% discount.

Staff was friendly, very knowledgeable, and overall the service is always excellent. Not the biggest craft beer selection, but they've got all the "names" and this store has a great location right off the toll road near all the hotels and restaurants for anyone passing through South Bend, or visting the Notre Dame/St. Marys campuses. Good wine selection as well.

Nothing to write home about. To thier credit they had beers from Mish Brewing, 9-Gs, and Mad Anthony's. Found a few expired beers here and there. Decent selection of German beers such as Weihenstephen, Spatan, Tucher, and Bitburger. Also saw a few case of Anchor. Decent selection in the coolers if you are willing to pay a few more bucks. Staff went extra effort to find selections not stocked in the front. I thought thier prices were fairly reasonable.

Would like to see more beers from the Portland/Seatle area, as well as the East Coast.

I was pretty disappointed with this place. I went here after the CityWide on Grape, which might have shaped my impression...this definitely does not live up to CityWide. The selection is not that great. They had some Bells, Founders, and Three Floyds, but nothing too good. For FFF they only had Pride and Joy and Bruce. I didn't see any Two-hearted either. Some of the stuff on the shelf didn't look to be that fresh. Not a terrible store, but you might as well go to one of the CityWides if you're in the area.

This is my favorite of the many Belmont Beverages in South Bend. It's better designed, has a wider selection and the service is moderately better. A whole couple of long shelves of craft brews, with lots of sixers and singles. Lost Coast, Thirsty Dog, 3 Floyds, Unibroue, Rogue, Mad Anthony, Nine G, Mishawaka Brewing Co., Back Road (sometimes), Great Lakes, Fort Collins, Snake River, Rochefort, among others. A lot of craft brews in the coolers as well if that's your thing. Every so often you'll find a way expired beer on the shelves, but that hasn't really been a huge problem. Staff isn't really knowledgable about the beers but they are helpful and will look up availability in their computer if you ask. prices are fine.

edit: since my review i have realized that many of the non-cooler beers are pretty old and often past their prime. this is bad.
