Proper pitch black body
with a fairly white head thats quite decent in size & stanima
Big charcoal aroma with hints of kipper
I don't get the hops much it's more carbon
it tastes like a good roastey stout rather than the black IPA it claims to be

Pleasant, balanced, soft.
While back can have some tone, this one doesn't. Foam could be more inviting, but lace hangs around. Average Looks.
Smells give me all malt and some of it smoked. Subtle. Tastes are very balanced, just enough smoked malts and hops to keep this from being sweet. Sits in the mouth fine, full for only 4.6%
I went on Sadler's website and there is not mention of Windsor Castle. The home of the royal family is an odd name for Sadler's to be associated since it was started in the Industrial Revolution. So, BA might look into this possible confusion. Anyhow, I was impressed by the owners keeping Sadler's brewery alive for 168 years and adding cider and gin to boot... all in a now small town that had been a boom town outside of Birmingham. Persistence pays we hope.

A good black IPA with some smoked malts and herbal hops flavour, very refreshing and pleasant to drink. Very good quality/price ratio.

Dark brown color with tan head. Aroma has citrus zest, some caramel, toasted malts. Taste starts with toasted malts, some fudge, continues dry and zesty, finishes hoppy with a light roasty bitterness. Light body with soft carbonation. Quite dry, easy drinking but tasty.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of April 2018. ABV is stated as 4.4%. Purchased recently from Home Bargains. The label describes it as a black IPA brewed with five malts and five hop varieties (Amarillo, Cascade, Citra, Chinook and Nelson Sauvin).
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A very dark brown that appears virtually black in the glass. Yields a decent head of creamy off-white foam that lasts for a minute or two before reducing to a patchy surface layer.
S: Aroma of dark malt with hints of roasted grain, subtle burnt notes, mild fruity hops, faint citrus peel, a touch of pine and ale yeast. The hops are quite hard to place. Malt-dominated but decent.
T: Tastes of roasted malt with notes of burnt graint, faint molasses, light citrus peel, vague fruity hops, a hint of pine resin and ale yeast. A robust bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with soft carbonation and decent body. Aftertaste of bitter roasted malt, piny hops and yeast.
O: A rather nice brew, even if it doesn't measure up to more serious black IPAs. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour blend roasted malt, bitter aroma hops and ale yeast. Decent body for the strength. Goes down nicely; it has enough character to put it a notch above average beer. More drinkable than deep, but worth sampling if you come across it.

Dark brown with a light tan head.
Toasted bread smell with fruity hops.
Light smoky flavour. Charcoal covers the hops. Sweetness leads to a bitter finish.
Smooth feel.

Quite carbonated with chocolate, coffee and a molasses base with an unremarkable hop bitterness on top and a predominant smoky flavour. Medium mouth feel. Bit like a weak stout but nicely balanced. Not a big impact but very enjoyable.
