Appearance: Bright lively yellow that is not transparent. poured into a Carlsberg 0.4L glass yielded a nice 2 inch head that quickly dissipated.
Smell: Nose is bright and sharp with the scent of yeast
Taste: Initially sweet then sharp sourness, but not as sour and traditional sour. Lingering malty character and no essence of hops to guess about.
Mouthfeel: not very existant.
Overall: Summery but sour. Makes my stomach a bit upset/unpleasant. wouldn't buy a 6 pack but nice to have as part of the 12 can variety pack by Butternuts.

pale yellow in color right from the can, with a short lived almost clear head, slight haze. I don't smell any of the traditional elements of hefe yeast, this is more of a Berliner Weiss to me, although lacking tartness and acidity, not real authentic at all. still its got some floral hops, some fruity notes of melon and lemon, and a super light wheat malt complexion that makes it a nice easy drinker in summer time. the wheat malt is almost too light, lacking a ton of flavor, but the interesting hop profile is allowed to stand out as a result, which might be a happy accident, but it works for me. good carbonation and plenty drinkable at under 5% abv. this is nowhere near the best stuff coming out of butternuts, but it does have some redeeming qualities, especially in hot weather. also good as a potential craft intro beer, as its flavors are mild and approachable to most.
