Poured into a Mahr's Weisse glass.
A-Cloudy golden beer. 2" white head settles to 1/4" in a minute. Decent carbonation streaming. Some lacing, and I wish the head stuck around a little longer. Note: if you just dump it into the glass: it does!
S-Smells like a Hefe, indeed. Mild clove. Very mild juicy fruit (gum.)
T-Very mild Hefe flavor. Very mild clove notes, very, very mild bananna. Found some yeast stuck to the bottom of the can, poured some beer into the can, swirled it around, poured now emancipated yeast into glass: still mild flavor.
M-Perfect for a canned hefe.
CRUX: BEST CANNED HEFE I EVER HAD. This beer I was not partial to at first, but it grew on me like fungus, and now has a place for the summer in the DBF. "Heinnieweisse" beer-can chicken? Genius! One of the best lawnmower beers ever, too!
NOTE: This beer is now a summer staple in the DBF. Never have I written such a low review...but then I kept on enjoying this brew, and scores kept climbing, and it's ALWAYS to be found in my DBF...this beer (and I hate cans...'cept for this one....), for the price, just plain ROCKS! It's actually too good for beer can chicken...I use my father-in-law's Natural Ice for that now...I hate canned beer, yet I buy this one by the case: excellent summer hefe, at a good price!
Serving type: can
