On tap in a pint glass.

A-copper in color that lightens to a gold when held to the light. One finger head with some good lacing.

S- dry bread and malt unlike most pale ales. Slightly sweet bbq aroma.

T-semi-sweet dry caramel malt, not a hop found here.

M- despite its minimal carbonation, mouthfeel is full bodied and bready, thick.

O- it's ok. I drank it on three different visits to a local dive bar. At first, I thought that it was a brown ale, not a pale ale. I still feel that way. Oh, and it's not worth the $5 that I paid for a draft pint.

This is my version of an everyday beer for me. It's not too much to pay for more than the the macro-bud-miller-coors (you get the picture) juggernaut, but much better.

To be honest I first was drawn to the name, but after tasting it, I was pleased. A good APA for the money.

Pours with a tall head but nonlasting and the head fades away.
Aroma is light with hops and malts.
Taste is desent with a good malt backbone and some citrus hops coming through.
Beer drinks smooth with very little bitterness.
A good tasting beer.
Got this at the North pole general store in Wilmington Ny which also has a fairly desent selection but with no real surprises.

Into my nonic:

A: copper/orange colored body that leaves a one finger white head, barely any lacing

S: hops up front backed up with a combination of citrus, roasty bread and butter.

T: pretty much the same with more of a buttery aftertaste.

M: light to medium, carbonation is notices, sessionable

O: I see why they are called "Butternuts" and why I most likely won't come back to this because of that weird buttery aftertaste
