Bottle poured into a snifter. Minimal head with some lacing. Aroma is mostly roasted malt, coffee and alcohol. Taste is predominantly coffee and roasted malt with a lingering alcohol burn. Decent barrel aged coffee stout, but not nearly best in style.

Not getting much barrel. Maybe a bit of vanilla and oak only. Good coffee and roasted malt bitterness. On the thin side. A hint of dark fruits in the after taste.

Black body, small lacing of beige foam.

60% coffee, 40% bourbon.

Front loaded coffee. Damn near munching on coffee grounds, has that granulated feel with a terribly harsh edge. No match for the Espresso Yeti or Vietnamese Speedway smoothness. Bourbon whiskey's well underneath, hardly worth mentioning, same goes for any and all chocolate notes. The scales are not balanced, have to say it's not at all worth the $20 bomber.

Body is surprisingly light. Taken blind, I would've guess it a brown ale.

Served alongside Mikkeller Cù’t Cà Phê Bia and Amager / Mikkeller Hr. Frederiksens Væsel Brunch (Barrel Aged).

The beer is near black with a towering, foamy, beige head. the aroma offers bourbon, oak, roast, chocolate, vanilla, Lots of barrel characteristics. Vanilla and oak, bordering on tannic. pretty smooth on the palate. A bit of a bite in the finish from the bourbon. Lingering vanilla with a touch of coffee. Overall, pretty good, but my least favorite of the three.

its the not barrel version taken to the next level. while the coffee is less intense than it was in the normal version, it is worthily sacrificed on the altar of mouthfeel. the barrel unites the two stouts blended here where perhaps they were a bit disjointed before, and the vanilla and char elements from the barrel marry perfectly into the stout, my only critique is that it seems to add a little hotness to the finish, warming alcohol on the swallow, but the body it gives, and the softness in the carbonation more than make up for it. like the regular one, i would have loved to see a bit more coffee in this, being the special kopi stuff, but this is a beautiful and highly refined massive stout, as good as i expect from mikkeller, but not quite so unique as his brunch. layers of licorice and tobacco and dark chocolate all weave together, its complex but somehow simple for what it is too, just an excellent stout by all counts. a little pricey at 18 or 19 bucks, but theres not much on the market to compare to it, so worth a try if this is your cup of tea without question.
