Poured a cloudy pale copper with one finger head and lace ring down glass. Aroma has citric hops that are expected and touches of grapefruit but also hints of a funky, sour edge (the Brett?) that isn't normally found in an IPA. Beer is smooth thanks to a pronounced yeast flavor, less citric hopped than average as the grapefruit notes come in which mixes with some sugary (mostly caramel) malts for sweetness and balances with a funky, sourt bite at the end that comes through on most sips. A non-traditional IPA that is worth seeking out to try once.

750ml bottle poured into a tulip.
A: Hazy orange. Large-bubbled tan head. Good retention. Foamy and clumpy patches of lacing.
S: very tropical. lots of pithy fruits. Citra. Pulpy mango. Tangerine and apricot. Tame bretty yeast character. Musty with a very light funk.
T: Brett character is much more prominent in taste. Very yeasty, musty, and funky up front. Layers of rustic barnyard and horse blanket. Pineapple esters. Tropical hops are muffled underneath the Brett, but they eventually come to the forefront. Grapefruit rind. Pulpy mango. Tangerine. Ruby red grapefruit. Pine needles. Bitterness is very modest. Crackery malt flavors. Blood orange and passion fruit on the finish.
M: Medium bodied. Creamy and silky with some malty firmness. Low carbonation. Light hop astringencies.
O: Brett and IPA is not a combo that sounded good on appear, but this worked. Very different flavor profiles, but they play nicely together.

Ugliest label I've seen but was happy to get my hands on anything by prairie and interested in what the collaboration would bring. Pours a really pretty peach color with a small head and barely any lacing. Aroma is the strong point here. Intense peach citrus smell with a little funkiness. The taste started strong with a lot of fruitiness and a little Brett. I let it get a little warm though and the fruit faded to turn pretty bitter, just a pretty good IPA.
