An outstanding pale ale with flavor and body. Puts all the bland and generic PA's to shame

440ml can. Poured deep gold with thick, lasting head. Tremendous body and mouthfeel. Particularly for a 4.6%. A worthy beer.

Pours orange gold with a bubbly, chunky cap that recedes to a chunky ring pretty quickly. Lemon, tangerine, grassy hop notes in the nose. The taste is citrusy and somewhat herbal with biscuity malts providing ample balance to the hops. Medium bodied mouthfeel with sparse carbonation. Medium bitterness with an edge of coarseness in the finish.

A nice Pale Ale, hops could be juicier and more complex. Still good and worth a try.

Unfiltered, enticing, peach-amber body, capped by a dense, off-white head that holds solid form for several minutes.
Plenty of citrus hops, primarily of orange and lemon, as well as some pine and mild spice. Light caramel malt in the background.
Juicy and fruity hops, light and sunny, of orange and apricot. Again, accompanied by some spice hops notes, all of it refreshingly bitter, leading to a super dry finish. Bready malts and mild minerality keep things crisp and clean. Medium carbonation and body. Enough flavour to keep things interesting, without being overwhelming.

A great summer beer, clean, refreshing, and highly quaffable.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Apr 30 2019 and served slightly chilled. Brewed by Mikkeller at the Brunswick Bierworks in Toronto.

Pours a foggy, translucent golden-orange hue, giving rise to more than an inch of puffy, soapy white head that crests above the rim of the glass before gradually receding over the next 10-15 minutes. By that point, a full coat of lace has been caked onto the glass, with a creamier, somewhat lumpy-looking cap remaining in place for quite a while longer. It smells quite grassy and citrusy: I'm getting some lemon, white grapefruit and a hint of something tropical - melon, maybe, or perhaps pineapple. Impressive thus far.

A pleasant-tasting little brew, and actually fairly flavourful for a low abv pale ale. Lightly grainy pale malts and oatmeal sweetness serve as the backdrop, with flavours of grapefruit, nectarine, pineapple and passion fruit mingling together on the taste buds for much of the sip. The hop notes take on more of a grassier, slightly resiny tone towards the back end, but minimal bitterness results from this in the end; a hint of melon lingers briefly into the aftertaste. On the lighter side of medium bodied, with moderately low carbonation levels that gently tickle the palate; feels smooth and a little frothy. My glass was empty in no time flat.

Final Grade: 4.11, an A-. I enjoyed pretty much every aspect of Peter, Pale and Mary, but it was its drinkability that stood out to me the most - this was just ridiculously easy to toss back, and I would not have minded having another can after finishing the first. Unfortunately, I bought this while out of town, so I doubt I'll see it again for a while... at least I can take solace in the fact that I know Mikkeller is brewing beer here in Ontario, and I hope to try a few more of his creations in the near future.

Slightly hazy with a nice frothy head. A bit bitter (that’s good) but not overly tropical or juicy. Easy drinking due to the low ABV.

LCBO purchase for about $3.75 CDN. Served cold into a pint glass.

Appearance - Pretty hazy pale golden color. A finger plus of loose and long-lasting white head. Some lacing left behind. Just a bit of visible carbonation partially due to the haze.

Smell - Leafy and hoppy with some subtle lemon and grapefruit mixed in.

Taste - Like the nose with leafy hops, some tropical flavors namely lemon and grapefruit although those are subdued. Some depth of flavor with a creamy wheat like quality coming around too. Refreshing and tasty.

Mouthfeel - Medium-light bodied, very quaffable, appropriate carbonation with a touch of creaminess to add some depth. Really good feel.

Overall - Actually had this side by side with a can of fresh CA's Rhyme and Reason and while different beers, both were exceptionally enjoyable. Worth a try although the price is a bit steep for a lower ABV pale ale. Certainly worth a tryand matches up well with Mikkeller's stellar rep.
