12.7 oz. bottle poured into a tulip.
Appearance: Pours a dark ruby/purple with a big fizzy pinkish head that recedes to a little less than a finger after a couple minutes. Some spotty lace on glass. Cool looking beer. Looks very much like something a vampire would drink.
Aroma: Musty, sour barnyard type aromas are present, with some berries and grapes. Sort of a wine-like character to the aroma, along with fairly heavy musty funk.
Taste: Wow. Where to begin. Well, first of all, it's pretty complex. There's tart, jammy berries competing with sour funkiness and flavors of grape. Definitely does have a wine-like, vinous quality. Alcohol is noticeable but fairly well concealed. It's fairly harsh. Not an entry-level beer, that's for sure.
Mouthfeel: Kind of surprisingly heavy. Denser than I'd expected. Maybe that's because of the somewhat high alcohol? There's also an almost vinegar-like character to it, which is somewhat distracting.
Overall: I'm glad I tried this, but at $13 per bottle, it's not something I'm likely to turn back to. Maybe I'm at a slight handicap because I don't know what the hell a chokeberry is. But, on the whole, it's a fun beer that I wouldn't necessarily take over a Lindemans. My wife thought it tasted like antifreeze and poison, and I suspect most casual beer fans would feel similarly. The sours crowd will likely find it engaging, though.

Pours a murky plum with two fingers of pink head. Head foams up quickly and retains well, with fair lacing left behind. Aroma is strong notes of cherry, berries, with a grassy, floral hop aroma. There is a puckering sour punch to the aroma, but it remains restrained behind the fruity notes. Flavor profile is much more sour, with a lactic sour tongue twister at the end. Cherries, berries, and some grassy, floral hops create an otherwise smooth flavor. Mouth feel is a little fizzy, but nothing too bubbly. It has a thin thickness. Overall, a well constructed sour lambic. The fruit notes are front and center - as they should be - with a puckering, sour punch at the end.
Served in a 12oz snifter.

375 ml bottle, best by date of 27/01/25 printed on the label. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a mostly clear reddish/purple color with about an inch and a half pink head. Head retention is good, and there's a small amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like berries (which I guess are the chokeberries), wood and some funkiness. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some vinegar and earthy flavors noticeable too. Good tart, fruity and earthy taste overall. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating with a good amount of carbonation. I thought it was an enjoyable brew, I wouldn't mind trying it again in the future.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip to a deep violet topped by a finger and a half of dense pink head that retains well and leaves some lacing
S: Smells of chokeberries, sourness and some funk
T: Taste is a nice sourness up front with some nice chokeberry notes. There's some funk going on and some slight dry malt notes. Funk isn't too pronounced and the sour and chokeberry win out. The swallow on this one brings more chokeberry, sourness and funk with a little bit more dry malt.
M: This beer has a medium body that seems slightly syrupy. Carbonation is just below prickly and the beer has a dry finish.
O: Overall this is a really nice fruited lambic. It has some nice flavors and the fruit addition complements it well. Overall this is one to try if you like fruited sour beers.

Reddish purple with a pink thin foamy head. Smells funky, earthy, and fruity like blackberry and grape concentrate. Initial flavor was fruity as well, but then seemed to get drier and very earthy. Tart but not sour like the others in this line. Cheers!

Pours a cloudy, lavender color. 1/4 inch head of an off-pink color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of strong citrus, bacterial funk, alcohol, and hint of yeast. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Fits the style of a Lambic - Fruit. Tastes of strong citrus, slight alcohol, bacterial funk, hint of yeast, and slight pale malt. Overall, tasty, tart, and strong bodied; another good spontan beer.

Excellent sour fruit bomb. Nose is full of cherry fruit sour flavors. Had it on tap at Mikkeller bar in Copenhagen. I hope these bottles make it state side. Definetly one of the best spontan series other than the dry hopped ones.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy bright red color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK carbonation. Aroma of intense berry notes with light tart notes is quite pleasant. Taste is also dominated by intense berry notes with light residual sugar notes and some tart notes. Body is full with great carbonation. Nice balance between fruit presence and drinkability. Wish this was available regularly.
