1pt 9floz bottle into sam smith pint glass.
A - the beer is so thick that the pour is virtually silent...massive head forms in a brown colour complementing the black/dark brown colour of the body. head forms big and stays around for a good while. I cannot emphasize enough how dark this beer is.
S - chocolate covered espresso beans are the most noticeable note in the nose, but there is also some caramel. what smells smells good, but there could be much more of a POW!
T - initial taste is of the chocolate malts and some bitterness of dark chocolate, minimal alcohol presence. the finish is much more directly coffee-choco, really tastes like a bite of dark chocolate more than anything. far less coffee than hoped for. aftertaste is strong flavours of the finish, but lingers for a very short time. a fairly one sided beer in my taste, not giving itself into many dimensions, but the flavour is not one to complain about.
MF&D - a smooth and slick beer, not very thick. despite the not as high abv I should still like to feel a thick beer for the style. but nevertheless the beer is very good.
