A 330ml can with a best before date of 8th November 2017. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A clear orangey dark amber colour with a one finger off white head that had good retention and left nice lacing.
Aroma: Grapefruit, grass, citrus tea and a hint of sweet caramel malt.
Taste: Orange juice, grapefruit, grass, pine, caramel malt and spicy peppery notes.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Second to Simcoe, but better than Citra and Mosaic. The malts overpowered the supposed showcased hops though, but it was still nice.

This is not a bad beer but it's a bit messy. Floral and a bit citrusy, the malt presence is nice but the beer is still out of balance.
I normally really Mikkeller beers but I'm really not impressed with the four ones I've had from the single hop series

Slightly hazy dark golden color with off-white head. Aroma has earthy hops and cardboard. Taste follows with the cardboard and some generic hop bitterness, seems oxidized although it's from a can. Medium body and carbonation. Overall I am really disappointed by the new single hop canned series.

33 cl can purchased at Mikkeller & Friends Bottle Shop in Denmark. I haven't been a huge fan of the Mikkeller single hop series because they are so malty. It just didn't work for the Mosaic and Citra versions. But it works quite a bit better with the more piney, bitter hops such as Cascade. A bit like a classic West Coast IPA.

Something weird about how these single hop beers can be so varied in their color, I've never seen differing hops make the beer a different color. Dark amber color on this one, kinda weird to have something so dark for a single hop showcase.
Lots of bitter grapefruit aroma, old school Cascades in full effect. Where I thought there was gonna be excess malt on this one, the high bitterness cuts right through it, if not offering much in the way of flavor beyond that. Ample hopping on this one, carbonation on point. Ultimately, this beer costs almost as much for 12oz as you can get for 72 oz of SNPA, the real Cascade hop legend (although not a single hop beer).

My bottle was found in the back of my cellar and is somewhere between 3-4 years old. I drank a few of the single hop when they were around a year old and the age was not kind to them.
This was a different story. Poured off 4-5 ounces of clear red ale before a tiny bit of hop/yeast residue started pouring in.
The flavor is very tricky- definitely drinking like a sharp, stronger red ale. A ton of sweetness and very little hop character, but you do get some very subdued Cascade character. If you've got old ones from this series, give them a shot.

Pours a cloudy orange-brown with a dense light tan head that leaves plenty of lace all down the glass. Also some floaties -- a fair amount of chunks in the glass.
The aroma is excellent, citrus and a little grassiness and some sweet malt.
The taste is surprisingly more complex than I was expecting. Some peppery spice, notes of orange juice and a little pine and grass as well. And there is a decent malt backbone as well throwing in a little caramel and toffee.
The mouthfeel is really nice, smooth and creamy and going down easy.
Overall, a quite refreshing and drinkable IPA.
