Poured into a Duvel goblet a grungy caramel color with a light beige fluffy, loose settled 1" head. No visible carbonation rising from the bottom as the liquid was murky like apple cider - looks kinda like it too. Nice thick sheets of lace all the way down.

Has a definite Belgian spicy, estery twinge in the otherwise floral hoppy nose. Funny, because when I said this ale has a Brach's caramel color, it really does have a caramel tone in the smell also. The hops are apparent but muted. Doesn't smell vibrant as I had hoped, seeing this brew was made with Simcoe, Cascade and Amarillo hops.

The taste is also muted. The hops are there, but I'd have a difficult time identifying all three - which is usually a breeze as there all very pronounced and extroverted. The Belgian yeast has made a definite impression; mineral-like, a tad bit funky - in a good way. Limp flavor overall.

Mouthfeel is extraordinarily tuned. Fine, playful carbonation at a perfect level. Medium bodied with a zippy, hoppy finish.

Overall I really wouldn't say I disliked the beer as I appreciate it's uniqueness. But I will say I wish I didn't spend the $7 for an 11.2 oz. single. Definitely a boutique price for an unremarkable beer. The craftsmanship is there, you can taste it. But I guess the American IPA lover in me was underwhelmed.

Pours hazy dark amber, one finger beige (almost orange) head with great retention and really sticky.
Big smelly punch of hops, fruity and sweet, citrus, peach, small tropical notes, but also with a bit of pine. Caramel maltiness, biscuit, flowers, grains, faint dry tobacco.
Taste is a bit complex and has different levels. Starts with malts and sweet perfumey fruits: peach, lime, pomelo, faint mango, maracuja, all covered in caramel. Hops turn a bit grassier, some faint flower petals, and bitter pine resin comes to counter the sweetness, not overpowering it tho. Spices and clearer malts follow towards the finish, pilsener malts, toasted grains, petals, lemongrass, orange peel. Hop oily finish, bitter, but also coated with all the sweet notes from before, nice and balanced mix.
Medium body, oily, kinda low carbonated. Great aftertaste of hop oils, spruce, citrus peel, some lingering fruity sweetness and some dry leafy bitterness. With the tons of flavours going around, you don't have time to feel the alcohol, so it's hidden pretty nicely.
I was a bit skeptical and expected a hop bomb, but this was really tasty and balanced. And cheap for a Mikkeller brew (around here), got it at around 4$.

Half Pint at Brewdog Edinburgh (£3.50):
Reddish amber with a 0.25cm creamy head with some lacing on the sides & not bad retention, holding okay & covering the surface of the beer at least.

Subtle & creamy initially before some citrus & pine notes plus some floral come through. Sweet malts & faint alcohol with some caramel follow. It smelt quite juicy & refreshing with some grapefruit coming through as well.

Bitter & fruity with some pine, grapefruit & floral hops. A nice sweetness with some caramel and malts & orange plus citrus flavours & faint alcohol.

Smooth & medium bodied with medium carbonation too. Hints of alcohol throughout but this didn't take anything away from the drink & it was still an easy on to get through, with some nice creamy bursts in places & a decent balance overall.

Another excellent beer from Mikkeller, it's not often the fail to deliver but this one was particularly good with a great aroma matched by the taste with plenty of hops present & a good balance throughout. A very nice beer for a hot summer evening, & it's not often I get to say that in Scotland.

Alias: Green Easter

Solid beer. Not the best IPA, but it has all the right ingredients. It is overly bitter, but not the extreme. The mouthfeel is a bit thick. It is not very cloudy, but it has a nice cloudy yellow color. Definitively a beer that will fill you up.

Nice head, though not very carbonated.

Green Easter pours a turbid orange edged garnet with billowing tan colored head. Big clump lays claim to the middle of the glass, which is coated in a web of chunky lace. Smell: whiff of grapefruit, soft red apple, caramel, sweet orange slices. Muddled and balanced, like an NC ipa. Taste: also confused or just not very good... caramel, lots of it, cut by a thin bitterness...pith, resin, borderline medicinal. Great label, not great beer.
