75cl bottle. Pours a hazy blonde color with a medium white head. Nice lacing. Smells quite heavily spiced, with a lot of orange peel evident straight away. Unappetizingly sweet. Slight cereal smell. Tastes better than the smell would suggest; the same spices are less dominant here, and a strong hop bitterness distracts from the otherwise sweet character. Actually, the bitterness might even detract a bit--it seems overwhelming and unrefined. The major complaint here, though, is fusel alcohol. Not only in the taste, but as it goes down. Not extremely pleasant. Witbiers are meant to be light, refreshing, and drinkable, and this is none of those things. I know this is "not just another wit", but geeze.

Pours cloudy golden with a huge (!) foamy heady. Good retention, lots of sticky lace afterwards.
There's a pineapple on the label and that's the first thing i smell. Grass and field herbs too, green hay, lime, citrus peel and spices. Sure, the hops give off most of that, but there is a certain witbier feel to it, so i'm not screaming "hop bomb" yet.
Still not screaming it. Nice citrus peel and juice, with tasty lime, tangerines and grapefruit, faint tropical notes too (kumquats?). Spicy Belgian yeasts go hand in hand with herbs, nice coriander, white pepper, faint lemongrass and mint, floral notes, faint clove. Feels more exotic rather than soapy. Wheat, wet hay and barnyard dry up the finish, mildly bitter. Tasty hops lingering.
Yeasty body, prickly carbonated at first, then rather creamy and chunky. Fits nicely.
I'm happy this turned out to be an almost perfect craft. Not the most expensive Mikkeller, but probably better than most of those. Great hoppy wit.

Tried this beer on tap:

PROS:
- Belgian white, with strong similarity notes of the famous commercial Dutch beer Hoegaarden.
- With distinctive flavours and after taste.

CONS:
- No body, poor mouth feel for a wheat beer.

Not the best beer of the Mikkeller ApS Range.

Pours hazy golden in color with a big 2 finger fluffy white head. Head has great retention and leaves a fair amount of lacing around the glass

Smell has some lemon rind like fruity esters forward wild some mild hints of Vinegar. There is a nice mild sweet grainy malt aromas before a few spices come in on the back end.

Taste has some Belgian spicy phenols forward, mainly coriander and peppercorn. Some light lemon esters are also present however Not a whole lot of vinegar or sour shows up relative to the aroma. This keeps it mild and drinkable. Some nice grainy and straw like malt come through midway through the sip before a mild hop bitterness and more lemon rind on the exhale.

Mouthfeel is good, moderate carbonation with a sticky feel keeps this nice and fizzy but soft due to the sticky body. Not a whole lot of hop bitterness but there is a good spicy dry Belgian finish.

A: Pours a hazy gold with a puffy, creamy whitish head that takes some time to settle. Head retention is great. A moderate amount of whitish lace is present on the sides of the glass.

S: Aromas of fresh herbs, grass, lemon, lime, kumquat, bitter orange, vanilla, wheat bread, spices, and cream are present on the nose.

T: Floral, fruity notes of herbs, grass, coriander, lemon, lime, bitter orange, kumquat, tangerine, and wildflower honey are balanced by notes of cream, vanilla, wheat bread, caramel, and biscuit. The finish is spicy and hoppy with pronounced notes of coriander, lemon, lime, tangerine, kumquat, and herbs.

M: On the lighter side of medium in terms of body, this ale is a bit sappy and sticky in the mouth. Carbonation is delicate, but just firm enough to support the body. Alcohol warmth briefly manifests on the finish, but is decidedly mellow and unobtrusive. Easy to drink for a beer of 8% abv.

O: This is a nicely executed double wit. The heavy hopping gives it a spunky, prickly character. If you are a fan of strong ales at all, then this a beer that is very much worth trying. It definitely is not just another run of the mill witbier and it isn't some half-baked attempt at a double wit either. Very unique.

330ml bottle. Poured a crisp golden colour, retains quite a haze, with some very nice white head retention and lacing.

Smell has lemon, dry orange, and firm yeast, some definite earthiness, nuts come through and dusty barn floor.

Taste is very fresh, fragrant florals and firm lemon orange citrus bitterness, a solid yeast presence, all very nicely balanced with some of the coriander bringing some solid earthy body. Lemongrass and firm apple. Very tasty.

The higher abv works excellently, not perceptible but lends a fuller feel to this beer with the yeasty creaminess, carbonation is moderate and the beer works very nicely on the palate.

A very nice and interesting wit style. I would definitely have it again. The spices are nicely incorporated and not hidden but add significant depth and complexity to this beer. Not the best beer from Mikkeller but a very nice expression of the wit style and the potential there. Try it.
