Poured into snifter - give it a hard pour at the end to enjoy the beautiful mocha brown foam and lacing. Beer is intensely black. Smells a bit of dark fruit and bitter dark chocolate with a touch of sweet oatmeal and cinnamon. Taste is a beautiful creamy coffee with a dark chocolate finish. The 10.9 ABV is nicely hidden.

12oz bottle. Served in a coffee mug 12/20/14.

A- Dark black body. Pitch black, dark, the works. Ridiculously frothy one finger mocha head with a lot of longevity. Looks like a cappucino. No lacing. Thin collar when all is said and done. Lots of legs on this beer, looks like motor oil.

S- Dark fruit, burnt malt, a bit of smoke, dark chocolate, espresso, milk chocolate. Lots of chocolate and dark fruit, a good bit of coffee. I'm thinking the dark fruit and a bit of cocoa can be attributed to the civet contribution, not really getting anything earthy.

F- Rich dark chocolate, roast coffee, a bit of burnt malt flavours, milk chocolate, less dark fruits. More licorice shows up on the finish. Very rich and coffee-forward on the palate, a bit different than on the nose. Drinks more like a very earthy Russian Imperial Stout with extra coffee flavours.

M- Thick bodied, viscous, slick and sticky. Dark fruity chocolate aftertaste lingers on the palate for a good time after. No heat. One of the thicker, motor-oily beers I've had in a while.

O- Pretty tasty, but I would argue that the regular Beer Geek Breakfast is just as good. This seems a bit more dark fruit heavy, but aside from that there isn't a giant difference as far as the coffee contribution goes. Excellent beer, though.

Final score: 4.24
