A: Pours an opaque jet black in color with moderate amounts of gentle visible carbonation near the surface of the beer and a light amount of dark brown highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense extremely dark mocha to brown head that slowly reduces to pebbled thick film covering the entire surface of the beer pretty evenly with a slightly thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of dark roasted malts, freshly ground coffee beans, espresso, and dark chocolate. Very light hints of alcohol as the beer warms up.

T: Similar to the smell, there are moderate to strong flavors of dark roasted malts, freshly ground coffee beans, and espresso. There are lighter notes of dark chocolate and just a touch of citrus/grapefruit rind hops. Moderate amounts of non-aggressive bitterness that lingers for quite a while.

M: Just shy of full bodied with light to moderate amounts of carbonation. Creamy and smooth with some light amounts of dryness and alcohol warmth in the finish.

O: This is a very enjoyable beer and one that I have enjoyed numerous times - usually as a brunch beer on a day of celebration (birthday, anniversary, or tailgating before a NFL game). This beer is strong enough that it needs to be drank slowly and savored but so good that I just want to drink it at pace. Definitely one of my favorites - I'm a big fan of coffee stouts.
