poured this into my Ithaca Excelsior tulip glass

A- initial pour reveals a thick white head that recedes to a thinner coating that never goes away. Beer is cloudy yellowish amber with lots of champagne like bubbles rising to the surface.

S- Fruity funkiness at first with a straw like aroma and a touch of mustiness. A freshness or bright lemony zest is present but not in the fore ground.

T- A bit acidic but not in the enjoyable sense as one might expect from this style. Seems unbalanced and kind of watery with a very young flavor to it. Somewhat of a granny smith flavor in there but mostly just yeasty with some barnyard.

M- highly carbonated with a nice dry finish, light to medium body.

D- Wasn't impressed all that much by this beer; it wasn't awful but I don't see myself grabbing this one again. I do have another in my cellar and maybe with some age things might come around, but I'm not holding my breath.

Opened in 2013, pretty sure it's a 2011 bottle.

A - Clear, wheat yellow body with lively carbonation. Mixed bubble head had ok lace and low retention.

S - Lemony funk; bright acid, barnyard, and green apples.

T - Way off. Soapy, foamy flavors dominate the profile. Touch of pear, seltzer, and apple peel, but it's not enough to save the beer.

M - Light, brightly carbonated.

O - Nice ancillary characteristics, but unfortunately the soap flavor is extremely off-putting.

my very first mikkeller!!!
pours a golden hued, semi-topped liquid.
smell is Belgian yeast, typical Belgian ale aroma.
taste is.... Belgian yeast.... candied sugars.... eh, it's alright....
overall.... it's alright.... typical Belgian flavored ale. so, if you click to all the beers mikkeller brews, then sort on the ratings, it's. like, THE LOWEST rated brew from them.... I guess it can only go up from here??
it wasn't bad. my 2 year love affair with Belgians is over. just way too rich. I still respect them all, but the ol' standby germans are particularly appreciated at this point although ive been bumping around with several other different things. still, I get the mikkeller concept. interesting.... cheers!

Poured from a 330ml bottle into a Fullers snifter glass. Labelled as "It's Alight!".

Pours a pale golden colour with a white head.

Smells very soft and floral, with a hint of sweetness.

Tastes again, very delicate but in a watery kind of way. Like sparkling water with a hint of sourness, light/sweet fruits - melon etc. Nice level of carbonation.

Overall I'm a bit torn. Decent but not strong flavours.

Poured from an 11.2oz into a Delirium tulip at low altitude in NY.

A: Pours a hazy light amber with a small cream-colored head. Decent retention, but no lacing to speak of.

S: Wheat malt character, slight barnyard funk and light floral notes in the background. Does not smell as "wild" as I would have expected per the description on the bottle.

T: Pilsner-like malt character up front gives way to a brief taste of yeasty funkiness, followed by a lightly bitter floral hop finish. Unexpectedly, the hop notes dominate the overall flavor profile; not particularly well-balanced in my opinion.

M: Light-bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation; watery feel.

O: An average brew overall -- certainly not among Mikkeller's best offerings.
