11.2 oz bottle

A: Cloudy copper under a huge head. Great retention and lace again save the day.

S: Citrus hop, but not huge. Orange, star fruit, lemon and grapefruit. Some spice character, almost a slight bubble gum like character. Bit of a sweet aroma.

T: Fresh hops, very mild pine character. Still getting a hint of bubble gum. Hops finish clean and more citrus-like. Bitterness is fairly mild.

M/D: Medium, smooth bodied, low carbonation. Nice drinkability. Not as good as the Simcoe version, but still good. The bubble gum and spice character I pick up is obviously out of place, but it never throws the beer off.

Trying this side by side against Cascade Single Hop.

Pours a golden orange color. Two finger rocky head that dies down to a nice layer of foam on top. Retains slightly better than Cascade. Lots of lacing let behind.

Smells of grapefruit mostly. Some dankness and resin.

Tastes of grapefruit and orange peel. Bitter resin, and dankness.

Medium bodied, well carbonated. Pretty dry. A nice hop bite.

Good drinkability, but the focus on one hop variety makes me want to move on.

A - Pours with a one and a half finger head of brownish-white foam on top of a copper-brown body. Decent retention and moderate lace.

S - Light, fruity hop notes with a hint of pine. The hops are balanced by brown, toasty malt with some caramel and brown sugar.

T - Pine hop flavors slightly harsh bitterness and some grapefruit. Good malt backbone with caramel and dry toasty malt.

M - Smooth, moderately thick body, moderate carbonation, and a dry finish.

D - The bitterness is slightly astringent with some grapefruit character and lots of pine. Lots of malt but not enough to balance the sharp hop character.

Poured a slight hazed mix of copper and burnt orange,a fluffy one and a half finger white head atop that slowly faded into a creamy mass that left broken lace behind.A mix of caramel/biscuit malt and leafy, citric hop, both stand together well, its nicely balanced.Quite a hefty malt profile going on,caramel sweetness with a bit of doughiness mixed with a hefty dose of herbal and citric hop.A well rounded IPA,the Warrior hop flavors dont punch ya in the mouth but is well rounded.Another nice Single Hop IPA from a great brewery.

Pours out a slightly darker iced tea color with lots of off-white suds. Very creamy looking small bubbles here.
Smell is more evergreen and mango. Not as grapefruit smelling as the Simcoe. Very mellow and fruity aroma. Just wonderful.
Taste is bitter mostly and not as much flavor as was in the Simcoe. Still this is a great beer. Wish there were more going on here.
Mouthfeel is a bit oily.
Drinkability is just OK.

Coppery amber with tons of suspended yeast particles visable and a nice fluffy head of eggshell head that leaves sticky rings of lace on the glass. The smell is fruity hops, pieapple and a slightly metallic note. Nice pine sap hop flavors with a good bit of caramely malt to balance. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. A pretty tasty beer, the label could use some work but it's the stuff inside that counts.

Pours a murky orange colour, delightfully cloudy with enormous beige head on top. Seriously, it's a 2:1 head-to-body ratio, sinking very slowly. Actually it could do with less, because my first sip will be mostly head. Lace is pretty spectacular as well. Gorgeously thick webs cling to the glass. Almost perfect looking.

Nose is pleasant and hoppy. Distinct floral notes with rose and geranium fragrances and a strong malty backbone. Hints of pine wood, citrus and honey, even honeydew melon I think as well. Slightly savoury aspects, like salted meat or something, just linger in the background. Interesting smell, but could use a bit more hoppiness because the complexities are nice, it just isn't strong enough to emit their full potential.

Taste is predominantly malty, actually, with quite an English flavour overall. A lot of lightly roasted barley, multi-grain bread, molasses and bitter nutes on there, with a slight sour twist towards the mid. Nice earthy bitterness with slight floral character but mostly resiny in character emerges towards the back, never craving attention but just swimming in the mouth at the back. It doesn't make a huge impression but I think this would be hard to do, because it would be so easy and tempting to overdo the bitterness. Has a slight sour character on the back, hint of nectar and lemon, and leaves a slight coffee dryness in conclusion. Nicely balanced, but could do with a bit more flavour. I think well-crafted, without being stunning.

Fairly full on the mouthfeel but not too viscous, as I said leaves a bit dry at the back, but pretty palatable.

Eminently drinkable beer. I feel like a lot of love went into this, and it's a bit of an oasis in the desert of "extreme".
