Unsure how to rate this beer that cannot be fully assigned to any style.

Pours hazed golden to light coppery with orengeish tint capped by thick dense white head that
sticks to the walls as it slowly retreats, never completely dying out. Hazed appearance of
the Danish Dream opposes to that of a Pilsener which is supposed to be very clear to brilliant,
however, the long-lasting white head is true to the style.

Nose is IPA-esque with hops lending citrus aroma - mostly tangerine, grapefruit and orange -
with obvious malt sweetness underneath. I don't get any DMS often found in German Pilsener nor any diacetyl aroma typical of Bohemian Pilsener. Faint sulphury notes can be picked up - those are common in IPAs and can be found in German Pilseners, but should be absent from Bohemian Pilseners.

Flavor is dominated by citrusy hops (instead of noble varieties), with pronounced bitterness lasting through the finish and lingering into the aftertaste. Medium body with dextrinous malts is somewhat slick from hop-oil coating.

Overall, an IPA-esque lager(ed ale?) brewed with citrusy hops, that evades to be classed into
any category. Good one, but claiming to be a Pilsner it's a complete failure.

Marketed as "Canadian Dream", I picked up a few bottles of this for the Long Weekend.

Poured into a Duvel tulip. Darker than your typical pils, a sort of tawny copper brew with an inch of fluffy foam that dissolves into a substantial layer with lots of lacing. Nice looking brew, though not your standard looking, crisp clear golden pilsner.

Nose is noble hop, good grainy component, with a malty sweetness. Floral notes and honey as well.

Tasty variation on the pilsner theme with some nice sweet cracker and biscuit, honey and floral hops to start things off, then a long bitter hop finish. Very nice, good assertive punch of hops to the finish which lingers long after each sip.

Thicker bodied, a bit sticky, nice creamy carbonation. Nice sipping brew.

A highly enjoyable, unique take on the pilsner style. Not the bright, crisp and clean brew that made Bohemia famous, however, but still a satisfactorily bitter, flavorful brew.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Feb 2014. The American Dream (alias of Danish Dream). Can't remember where I got this - possibly my local beer specialist.

Poured into a straight pint glass. Bottle conditioned, with considerable yeast sediment. A hazy orange-amber colour with strong carbonation. Plenty of chunky sediment suspended throughout the body. Yields a huge head of creamy white foam with good retention; this eventually reduces to a surface layer. Aroma of bright, juicy hop notes: white grape, melon, grapefruit, citrus and mild pine. The hop character is underpinned by dry yeast esters and sweet caramel malt. Delicious.

Tastes of caramel malt with dominant fruity hops and a dry, bitter finish. Notes of white grape, melon, grapefruit, citrus, faint pine, earthy yeast, caramel, grain and stewed hops. Slightly sweet. A restrained bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, with pleasant carbonation and a thick, almost creamy body. Somewhat astringent, with an aftertaste of bitter hops and earthy yeast.

An unconventional take on the pilsner style - more of a hybrid between a pils and a hoppy pale ale. Unusual hop varieties in evidence. However, the result is decidedly tasty and goes down only too easily. A fantastic hop aroma and flavour with lots of light fruity notes - NZ varieties? Solid caramel backbone that keeps it's distance, though the yeast is a bit full on. Superb body - almost too thick for a lager. A well-crafted brew that is certainly worth trying - the only thing that would prevent me having it again is the excessive price.

Appearance: big frothy head stays strong until the last drop; very active carbonation, like a fountain of bubbles; light copper colour, clear

Aroma: strong citrus and pine hops - very fresh and not too bitter; fresh lemon; touch of syrup; wheat

Taste & Mouthfeel: mild start, with bread, lemon zest, mineral water keeping things light and refreshing, then spruce hops slowly glide in to make for a lasting and vibrant finish; good transition of flavours, everything balanced well, no one element overpowering

Overall: just about a perfect pilsener, crisp and dry, with a little more hops than you might expect; fresh and pure tastes of mineral, grain, and pine give it a feel of truly coming from the land

On-tap at the Brick Store.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a half-finger bright white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving solid lacing.

Smells of slightly sweet pilsner malts with large amounts of herbal and light citrus hops.

Tastes similar to how it smells. Crisp pilsner malt flavors kick things off and are joined quickly by light citrus hops. Midway through the sip herbal and lightly leafy hop flavors come into play, turning things slightly bitter. Very light bready yeast flavors make a brief appearance near the end of the sip before fading out into a solidly bitter ending.

Mouthfeel is good. It’s got a nice thickness with active carbonation.

Drinkability is very good. I finished my glass quickly and could easily have a few more.

Overall this was an easy-drinking, crisp, and low-ABV beer, something of which I'd like to have a lot more. Well worth a shot.

330ml bottle.

This beer (after a spouting mess on the counter on first contact - bottle conditioned - nah!) pours a hazy pale golden orange hue, with one fat finger of creamy, foamy eggshell white head, which leaves a few geologic arches of lace around the glass in its wake.

It smells of zingy grapefruit and other nondescript citrus, some soft grainy, cereal-esque malt, and herbal mustiness. The taste is bitter, crisp citrus hops, a bit more muddled than even in the aroma, with the grainy malt and soft herbaceousness gamely rounding things out.

The carbonation is a bit frizzy, and blow-up creamy at times, the body medium weight, and whose smoothness is verily dashed by the aforementioned bubbles. It finishes just off-dry, the decent grain still having a heck of a time with the pushy, forward, and well, fresh hop onslaught.

Lager?! Fucking eh! I don't think I've ever encountered a lager as (relatively) balls-out hoppy as this is. Not too big of a surprise, given the source, but all the same, this is a zesty, enjoyable tipple - a solid lager base, and the rest, you know.

Good hoppy aroma. Murky golden coloured body with lots of white bubbly foam, that leaves levels of lace linings as it goes down. Average mouthfeel, a tad astringent. Very drinkable, god hoppy taste particularly for 4.6% a.b.v.Good bitterness, orange flavour. Above average carbonation.

On tap at City Beer in SF. Pilsner, huh? This is an interesting beer, one I would place more in the IPA realm if I had to choose.
Pours a clear light amber color with a small white head that leaves some lacing on the glass.

Aroma is very hop-forward, citrusy and piney, with a little malty sweetness poking through.

Flavor is hop-centric as well, with grapefruit, pine needle, and resin, but has a noticeable and even mildly sweet malt aspect, with pilsner malt and maybe even a little caramel.

Medium-light bodied and dry with hop oils present on the palate.

Very drinkable. This is a really good pilsner/IPA hybrid that definitely falls more toward the IPA side.
