The beer pours a hazy brownish-orange color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the citrus orange but it smells very bitter. The taste is just as bitter. Nothing is evident except bitter oranges. One of the most bitter beers I have ever tried. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

I went to the GingerMan in Midtown Manhattan and was pleasantly surprised to learn that they were running a Mikkeller special featuring seven our eight single hop ipa's as well as some other interesting specialties. I have loved these beers when I've had, i believe, all of them at one time or another in bottles. On draft, in a flight of multiple single hops, comparing them side by side demonstrates why some hops are better for bitterness and others for aroma and flavor. I recently had a flight of Cascade, Chinook, Tomahawk and Warrior.

Cascade: As might be expected, great aroma and flavor but not as much bitterness as you'd like in an IPA. Very enjoyable and one that I'll get again.

Chinook: The chinook, which is typically a bittering hop, is a sentimental favorite of mine. Although it doesn't offer the same citrusy aroma of many West Coast finishing hops, it is an all around good beer and maybe my favorite.

Tomahawk: Not as bitter as the Chinook but a little more aromatic as well. Very good flavor and and that i might venture for again.

Warrior: The weakest of of the bunch, I thought, but perhaps the most well balance of the four. Some good bitterness, some good aroma, some good flavor. I'll get this again.

Any of these is worthing getting if you see them in bottles or on tap.

This one showed up on tap a while ago at the Tap & Table. I managed to get one of the last glasses of it before the keg kicked. The beer poured out as a nice looking clear golden yellow color. The head was decent, it was white and a little fizzy, not a whole lot of lacing on this one. The smell was a little piney and had a nice floral quality to it. The taste was hoppy, nothing too extreme but still not bad. The mouthfeel of the beer was drinkable, I can't really see much wrong with this brew. Overall it's nice drinking IPA. You could have this just about anytime and probably enjoy it.
