Bottle (330ml from Good Spirits Co. Glasgow, £4):
Deep amber colour with a large head that is about an inch and a bit tall with a foamy texture and a creamy white head on top. The beer is clear and shows some tiny bubbles rising to the surface and head retention is good too.

Light pine bitterness and hops with a few floral notes but overall it was pretty subdued and nothing really grabbed your attention. Once it opened up a little then some grapefruit and citrus notes made an appearance along with some faint and sweet malts plus a hint of fruit in the background.

Nice balance of bitter hops, grapefruit and citrus complimenting the tropical fruit flavours very well indeed. A stronger malt and caramel taste than the nose suggested and a nice mix of fruits, notably orange at the end with a nice bitter finish.

A medium body and moderate carbonation with a nice bitter and citrus kick along with a slightly chewy mouthfeel. The finish was bitter, crisp and surprisingly refreshing with only a touch of alcohol coming through right at the death.

Nice and well balanced beer with enjoy going for it to make it a pleasant beer that I would have again. I would say that the smell could have been stronger and that it started to fade a little towards the end when the alcohol became slightly more noticeable but it was still a good beer.

A: Poured amber to red in colour (quite beautiful really) with a relatively dense 1/2-1" head which maintained throughout the duration of drinking it.

N: Fruity and floral hoppiness that wasn't super complex, but still pretty interesting. The nose sets you up to expect some decent hops without being ridiculous like some of the NA IPAs out there right now.

T: Bright floral/citrus flavours come through right away with a pretty intense lingering bitterness from the hops, but nothing too crazy since the noticeable maltiness comes through by the end.

M: Medium-heavy bodied (not surprising considering the style and the ABV); it coats the mouth in a pretty nice way.

O: I was really pleased with this and am happy to have bought a bottle. If you're bored with domestic/North American IPAs, give this a shot as it definitely gives them a run for their money.
