Bottle into pint glass
A – Massive cream colored loose head forces a short pour, moderate recession speed leaves scattered patchy lacing to a thin pillowy layer, brew is a hazy brown amber 4
S – Grassy, florals, milder citrus biscuit apricot & caramel notes 3.5
T – Lots of flavor, bitter hop edge up front, a caramel malt spine takes a back seat and lets the hops shine in a quality way, lots of complexity and a unique balance in an American IPA 4
M – Excellent mouth feel, medium body is very rounded and carbonation is great as well, soft & smooth drinking, ABV is transparent 5
O – A very good IPA, try it. Rare for me in the hop levels where I still consider the malts as adding so substantially to my enjoyment, very good balance with a great mouth feel and good drinkability 4.5

Appearance - The head came up on an easy pour and was thick and full leaving huge clumps of foam on the inside of my mug. The liquid was a pretty and dark orange in color. Overall this beer is very inviting.

Smell - The hop profile is complex filled with pine, citrus, grapefruit, and spice. The malt base is just as big making this a balanced nose. There's a rich sweetness to this aroma like caramelized sugar.

Taste - The hops came over wonderfully at the taste although the malt was a bit milder than I had hoped. I picked up a dull grainy flavor that I didn't get at the smell. It is still a nice mix but could have been better.

Mouthfeel - This is medium-bodied with light but firm carbonation and little bitterness.

Drinkability - This is very smooth and went down well. The flavor profile was a little clumsy and all the components of the beer didn't work well together but overall this was a good drink.

Pours a murky golden amber color with a tan head that hangs on.

A really nice aroma of pine, florals, and citrus (orange, grapefruit, tangerine).

the taste starts out on the malty side. It quickly transitions into hop flavors, though they are fairly nondescript, losing the complexity that it had in the nose. The bitter finish lingers like a champion.

The price tag hinders the drinkability, otherwise I could drink a few of these. Nice beer.

11.2oz bottle poured into a tulip pint glass. It is labeled 6.9% ABV.

Appearance: Amber/slightly hazy copper in color. Creamy, pale, and thick two finger head. Excellent head retention.

Smell: Your standard aromas of pine, resin, and floral bouquet that is typical of American IPA's.

Taste: Light notes of caramel. Subdued citrus and grapefruit.

Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation perfectly matches this medium-bodied beer. Light hop bitterness in the beginning. Starts off dry, and finishes somewhat chewy and refreshing.

Overall: I'd say Mikkeller did a decent job replicating west coast IPAs. I would not buy this over American-made IPA's though because the hop flavor and aroma is not as "bright and clean" as it should be.

The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma is dominated by two main hop flavors: grass and orange. The flavor is more of the same but in addition to the grass and orange hop notes, I also get some pine. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

11.2oz bottle at fridge temp poured into a snifter. "6921103" on the cap?

pours out a cloudy golden, dark orange color with a big rocky, billowy slightly off white head. great, thick retention and amazing looking sticky lace.

not much aroma to this, maybe too cold? some citrusy fruits maybe some faint tropical fruits. slightly grassy, almost no malt detectable.

kind of a surprising taste. much better than the aroma suggests. tropical fruits, stone fruit, peaches, grapefruit citrus. the hops aren't too in your face but the flavors are there. the slightest hint of a crackery malt doesnt do much for balance.

medium bodied with a full slick mouthfeel, slightly creamy, decent feeling carbonation. average bitterness for the style.

overall a decent IPA, some interesting hop flavors. not really worth it again for the price, but an awesome idea with this and the single hop series.

Bottle purchased from Green's on Buford in Atlanta.

Pours a hazy, deep copper color with a one-finger tan head. The head recedes into a thin layer on top leaving solid lacing.

Smells of earthy, citrus, and pine hops all backed by a combination of pale and caramel malts.

Tastes similar to how it smells. Pale malt flavors with hints of deeper caramel malts kick things off. Joining in shortly thereafter are large amounts of leafy and citrus hops with lighter amounts of pine. The hops carry through to a solidly bitter and mildly dry ending.

Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with moderate carbonation.

Drinkability is also good. I finished my glass wiht no problems and could have another.

Overall I like the general idea behind this idea but there's a reason IPA's generally aren't made with more than 3-4 types of hops. The more intense hops with good amounts of earthy and leafy notes covered up the more subtle hops. Still, if I tried really hard I could get brief whiffs of the more nuanced hops. Worth a shot.

#BOTG 77! A doubleheader this evening for me. Poured from bottle (not cheap, $6/12 oz) into New Belgium tulip. Super dark orange color, very very cloudy. Thick off white head, takes forever to recede, leaving sticky lacing all over my glass. A great looking beer. Smell- an almost saccharine sweet citrus hop aroma, earthy hops, and piney/floral comes out. There are 10 different types of hops in this beer, a lot going on in terms of aroma. Taste- almost tart citrus hoppiness blasts the side of my tongue. Really nice smooth tropical fruit malt backbone, nice residual bitterness lingers on my tongue. I'm a fan of this beer, and normally mikkeller beers are a little hit or miss for me. I don't think this warrants the huge price tag it demands, but I dont think any of his beers are ever great value for the money. I would have this again if it was a little cheaper.

I wonder why we in Canada get the Danish-only labels...as much as I can discern, this is made with 10 different hops, exactly like a Japanese offering I tried just last week. The rest of the world and their obsession with the base-10 system...

This beer pours a slightly hazy medium copper hue, with a copious amount of foamy, to say the least, off-white head, which eventually settles to reveal some coarse webbed lace. It smells of strong citrus hops - grapefruit and orange, mostly, and a soft biscuity graininess. The taste is bitter, leafy, grapefruit rind citrus up front, followed closely by a subdued biscuity caramel malt sweetness, with the elevated ABV hiding well. The carbonation is on the soft side, the body full, smooth, and a tad creamy. It finishes fairly dry, the citrusy hops pushing the malt out of frame.

Not as much variety evident in the hop profile, given the inputs. Still, a pretty solid IPA, lots of crisp bitterness, only restrained from being over the top by the dutiful malt backbone.

A pleasant mix of hops. Rich, citrus, complex and worth a try as it will resonate differently with every fan of hoppy beer. Preferred the single hop series myself.Bold orange colour and certain hop aroma. Estimated IBU 65-70. Above average mouthfeel, smooth mouthfeel for what it is and that is amazing craftmanship.

330ml bottle purchased from Slowbeer, with thanks to bluebetty. Poured into a Mikkeller tulip.

Pours a deep orange with a big glow to it. Has a three finger head of foam that is rocky as it settles and grips the glass a touch on the way down.

Strong, defined smell of pineapple, mango, fruit salad and a touch of pine and grapefruit. Diverse and interesting as well as fresh.

Tastes like hop resin, solid bitterness, lacking the great array of fruit that comes in the nose.

Mouthfeel has plenty of bitterness from the get-go, front to back of mouth. Drying, bitter finish.

Overall a great smelling IPA that tastes nothing like you hope or envisage from the aroma. A real shame as it could be a beauty.

A: Somewhat murky orange color, over carbonated, slightly cloudy. I would have like the head to be a little more tightly packed as well. Decent lacing though

S: Very earthy smelling with notes of fresh cut grass to start. Some soapiness as well rhat is a bit flowery

T: Again very grassy tasting with some bitter pine notes at the end. It is also quite soapy as well. Its not bad but just a bit too flowery

M: Pretty accurate for the style, not to heavy, but not too light. there is a bit of a watery quality however there is a nice lingering bitter note.

D: I was quite disappointed this one. its not hard to drink but its also not exactly what i look for in an IPA. this was way to perfumy and soapy tasting.

pours a murky light brown with subtle hints of orange. massive cream head that lingers forever, thick lacing. perfect retention.

very vibrant hop flavors. tons of sweet citrus with tangerine and pineapple up front.

straight hops. tons of complexity and varying hop flavors from start to finish. starts off sweet with pine and kicks into a bitter citrus plunge. very light floral flavors, this happens to be the weakest flavor. bitter finish. malts are barely noticeable.

light and sweet, drinks smooth with a nice bite.

this is beyond good. price is a bit high for the size but a great treat here and there. tons of hop flavor.
