Collaboration with Mikkeller

This is a unique blend of two of Denmark's best imperial stouts. We have brewed Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch Weasel & Amager Bryghys Mr. Frederiksen separately and then blended the two brews. This has provided a very balanced, harmonious & full-bodied beer. After maturing, the beer is stored in our cold cellar for almost one year.

Dark pour with very little head. The beer is viscous, full-bodied with a heady chocolate nose. The mouthfeel is silky--goes down like syrup. Flavor is in a word--delicious. Coffee, vanilla, a subtle hint of bourbon, all with a creamy vibe. Beautifully crafted.

Poured from 500 mL bottle into snifter.
A: Pours a nice dark black brown hue with a skim of dark mocha head.
S: Soft dark chocolate and darkly roasted coffee with hints of vanilla, soft bourbon, creme brûlée, and a hint of whiskey. Wow! This is extremely smooth and decadent.
T: Dark roast coffee with cream, dry bittersweet chocolate, creme brûlée, a touch of soft sweet bourbon, a distinctive vinous note which blends effortlessly with all other notes, and a hint of whiskey around the edges. Layers of dark decadence!
M: Heavy body and yet really doesn’t feel that way. Loads of dark sweetness with mildly bitter coffee and chocolate. Warming vinous, bourbon, and whiskey notes linger on the palate.
D: What a superbly crafted and blended brew! Seek it out!

Tar black body supporting one-finger thick head, tan and creamy plus long lasting. Dark chocolate aroma with a touch of sweetness; some cocoa and coffee. Excellent milk chocolate and coffee combination taste; some whiskey notes layered deeply in the background that slowly creep forward at the finish; some dark grain char and bitterness. Heavy body; thick and chewy; creamy; some alcohol warmth to counterbalance the overall heavy sweetness.

This is a finely blended stout, and a real treat for those of us who like northern European dark ales. The coffee element is rather subdued while the whiskey barrel aging and generally high ABV blend well with the overall base beers. A beautiful collaboration...

Unknown vintage; drank 1/2/15 @ Fischman's.

Brown/black hue.

Dark tan head; thick lace.

Coffee & fresh earth nose.

Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.

Black coffee, fresh earth & black licorice flavors up front; a hint of pickle juice on the finish.

Bold but not too good.

Poured from 500ml bottle into glass. No bottling date information found on label or on bottle.
Black, opaque colored body. The slightest of dark brown edge when presented to light (less than the width of glass bottom). Thick, tan colored head settles to interrupted cap and ring. Leaves behind webs and sheets of lacing.
Aroma of dark roasted malts and coffee. Also molasses, dark bread, dark chocolate, and vanilla.
Well blended flavors of dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, dark roasted malt/bread, and sweeter vanilla notes. Low bitterness, which results in an aftertaste of sweet caramel and espresso coffee. Alcohol is present but not of a burning nature, but rather adds a signature note to the other flavors.
Fuller mouth feel, with a coating aspect to the mouth. Good carbonation support. Rather light at the end of the taste profile.
A true sipper stout. Wonderful blend of aromas and tastes. Label has a sleeping weasel with a leaking, overturned goblet, a chef's knife pointed to a partial leaf, leaves with dew, and a steaming coffee pot.

this is like getting invited to your college girlfriend's wedding and you haven't seen her in a couple of years and you don't know the dude she's seeing but you say what the hell it could be cool and you show up and she looks just like you remember and he's awesome and you're really happy you went. then you find out she has a pet weasel as the ring bearer and it becomes the best party ever.

it's dark and sweet and smooth with a roasted edge and warm. greater than the sum of its parts.

Black in color with no penetration to light. There's a fingernail of brown around the rim and two thirds of the top. Light lacing. The aroma is comprised of sweet bourbon, bitter roasted barley, coffee, and dark chocolate. I'm tasting initially a bourbon flavor with coffee, dark malt, chocolate, and an easier bourbon finish. The mouth is warm with alcohol, thick, and yet oddly smooth from the oatmeal.

Very close to my idea of the perfect imperial coffee stout. I do adore Brunch Weasel and this marriage with Amager seems made in heaven, in the “you complete me” sense. Hr. Frederiksen is a fantastic stout in its own right and makes some wonderful contributions here. It is gorgeous. Perfectly opaque with an elegant toffee head that resolves into lovely persistent lacing that follows the boozy legs down the glass. The aroma has everything you could ask for, dark chocolate, molasses and espresso, enhanced and by mellowed by vanilla and chocolate milkshake tones. I could wax rhapsodic about the taste for a long time. In the interest of brevity I’ll just say that it’s as good or better than any big stout I’ve ever had. Super complex with every note perfectly balanced. If I have any criticism it’s that the sweet overpowers the bitter in the big picture. Nonetheless, a fantastically successful collaboration; thank you Mikkeller and Amager!

A punch of coffee and oat to the palate. Uncompromising, robust, roasty, and a hint of boozy and hazelnut. Got a smokiness in the body. That being said, it isn't as complex as it sounds. Really coffee with aftertaste of some of those other things... sometimes. Just too powerful for me to really get into beyond the feel and look
