Undated bottle into tulip.
A- Bkack as night with light shining through. Two finger tan head slowly recedes to thin cap of right bubbles. Lacing is not bad.
S- Oak and alcohol with a touch of coffee and chocolate. I'm getting a acidic wine quality that reminds me more of grape juice than wine. The vanilla really smoothes everything out.
T- Definitely getting the wine barrels right up front with a slight acidity and tartness. Coffee and chocolate add a nice bitterness while the honey and vanilla sweeten the finish. Alcohol is almost invisible.
M- Medium to full bodied. Carbonation is lively and it sticks to your lips. Slight alcohol warmth.
O- I'm really digging this one. Whay a great idea for this beer. Can't wait to try the other barrels.

Dark black liquid, dark brown head. This looks imperial like Star Wars. Aroma had plenty of roast, ashiness, mild vanilla, oak and bitter coffee roast notes. The white wine barrel all gave it some levity (and maybe some of that vanilla).
Taste is a good juxtaposition of the harsh, roasty, ashy, thick black malt notes along with the high carbonation and light effects of the white wine barrel notes. Good mouthfeel for something so big abv. The addition of the white wine/barrel will definitely leave you reaching for the antacid.
There's a lot of hate for this beer, but I think, price aside, its a good beer. The bottles are far from cheap, but in the Mikkeller world, they're not bad considering even their 12oz ipas are $7.
