Poured a lighter amber with a 1/2 finger white head atop, herbal and grassy aromas with light biscuit dough underneath.Flavors were herbal and medicinal wich I wasnt a fan of,it seemed a bit raw.Not a bad beer but I wasnt a big fan of the medicinal hop flavors.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma is full of orange and lemon citrus notes with some toffee malt. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of orange and lemons with some biscuit malt. There is also a little bit of toffee and caramel mixed in. Medium bitterness.
Medium moutfeel and medium carbonation.

On-tap at the Brick Store.
Pours a clear copper color with a white head leaving decent lacing.
Smells of pale malts with good amounts of light citrus – lemon rind more than anything – and lighter amounts of apricots and tropical fruits.
Tastes similar to how it smells, though the hops are less robust. Pale malt flavors up front are joined by smooth lemon and grapefruit rind. Midway through the flavors sweeten with hints of nectarines and apricots, carrying through to a moderately bitter finish. Mouthfeel is good, with solid carbonation.
Overall I thought this was one of the better and more interesting beers in the series. Well worth a shot.

330ml bottle, single hop series - neeexttt!
This beer pours a cloudy medium golden amber hue, with three fingers of rambunctiously burbling foamy ecru head, which settles at an agreeable pace, eventually giving up some decently askew webbed lace around the glass for its efforts.
It smells of musky floral, weedy lemongrass - like that stuff you bought for the Vietnamese-themed dinner party from a dank corner in the local Asian foods superstore - and some cracker graininess pulls me out of the reverie of that particular cultural misstep. The taste is a bit more straight ahead lemony, without losing that frowsiness, the weeds and grass themes well trod upon, with a nondescript spiciness, and a light boozy edge, which raises allusions to unsweetened limoncello.
The bubbles are a wee bit racy, but to no ill effect, the body a somewhat maudlin medium weight, with a dull acidic edge taking little away from a stolid overall smoothness. It finishes with a struggling grainy sweetness, tamped down coldly by the lemony, grassy (more distinct now) bitterness.
I've come to know exactly one thing about the Sorachi Ace hop varietal (with apologies to U2) - leeemooonnn! Now, I see that it's a little bit more complex, what with that crazy grass, and all...anyways, another well-rendered lab specimen example of what a particular hop can do for you, deprived of its supporting cast.

Fresh bottle. Pleasant aroma, not very hoppy. Pours foamy cloudy golden body that leaves thick lace. Tasty stuff! perhaps the best use of the hop that I remember, with an understated lemon hop taste. Very good drinkability.Average mouthfeel.Well worth seeking out.

on-tap, local option Chicago
appearance: served in a tulip, clear copper body, light white lace
smell: coconut, lemongrass, light toasted malt
taste: the sorachi ace is a really interesting hop - flavors remind of traditional thai dishes...coconut milk, lemongrass, lime. Really quite interesting - would like to see more of this hop in circulation
mouthfeel: medium side of light

Pours a hazed amber with 2+ finger of sand colored head. Great head retention & good lacing
S: Herbal & woody hops, some breadyness, fades as this warms
T: Grapefruit & pineapple, some piney notes as well up front. Some woody dryness as this warms, orchard fruits, pineapple & grapefruit are all there. Finishes with grapefruit, orange peel, woody & dry & a touch of pineapple & passion fruit
MF: Medium bodied, low carbonation, nice balance
This is a good AIPA, but too pricey...

Cap numbered 8271103! Served from bottle into Stone nonic. Poured yellow-orange with a four finger off-white head that subsided to two fingers slowly. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, earth, subtle fruit, spices, earthy hop, and subtle spicy hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, wheat, grain, earth, and earthy hop. It had a light feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this one wasn't too good, but it always wasn't too bad. The aroma on this one did not prepare me for the earthy assault my tongue was about to take from this brew. Probably the biggest earthy character on the flavor of any of the ones in this series by far. The aroma was not too bad though. Worth trying, but I would leave it at that...

Love the subtlety of this hop profile! The mouthfeel and taste is superb but I think the aroma lags behind. I prefer a piney spice or pungent citrus aroma kick but the Sorachi Ace is much softer and almost bready. Love the lingering hop taste, very complex and thought provoking.

Pours deep amber with a large, lasting head.
Nose shows the usual Sorachi Ace lemon custard and earthy herbal notes along with clean malt underneath.
Hop-focussed flavours, more lemon and herbal notes with accompanying sharp, spicy bitterness. Could use more malt.
Too much carbonation.

pours semi hazy copper orange with a 2 finger fizzy foamy white head that faded to a small film and left some lacing
smells bready malts and that it - no hops?
taste - again very malty for the style - hops are only present in bittering the brew
mouthfeel - medium body good carbonation
overall - very boring overpriced beer - oh well thanks mikkeller for showing me how useless sorachi ace hops are or you for brewing a beer with them

Pours a hazy sunburst orange with a tight, white head that leaves good sized chunks of lacing.
Smells of lemon and grassy notes.
Tastes of the hop notes upfront with a solid malt base. The lemon notes are prominent leading way to floral and grass notes. Decently bitter. Malts come in and add a little grainy sweetness along with bread notes. Fairly balanced overall.
Mouthfeel is medium with a smooth amount of carbonation.
Overall, this is interesting, but not outstanding and definitely not worth the import surcharge.

12oz. bottle from Premier Gourmet.
A - Cloudy medium amber colour with 2 fingers of bubbly cream coloured head that left very good lacing.
S - A somewhat weak nose. Lemon zest, grassy notes, light caramel.
T - Must more pungent than the nose suggested. Lemon zest with some grassy/earthy notes and a very light malt backbone. The finish is dry, tart lemon.
M - Medium body, light carbonation. Some chew.

deep amber, copper, w/ a one finger head wich settled nicely, fine lacing throughout. Smell and taste both lived up to the name! Smell came through strong piney, with citrus overtones, very fresh smelling. Tatsed AWESOME.. Grabbed you right away with the fesh pine taste and lingered for a good bit, almost begging you back for more. Very smooth and highly drinkable
