My first Mikkeller, I think.
Near black with a nice, long-lasting tan head. Looks great, and the aroma is sweet and promising, if not that of a typical RIS (or tequila for that matter).
Taste: Too sweet! Rich and complex, but the pronounced sweetness overshadows everything else. Certainly plenty of sweet malt, but much sweeter than from malt alone, I think. Even the aftertaste is too sweet.
If this only rated liked the aroma it would be a fine beer.
O - disappointing, but has it strong points and excellent potential as the start of a revised version.

Served in tulip, from bottle, 49°F
Didn't realize this was a discontinued beer when I recently purchased it. Have been loving Bourbon Barrel beers, and thought "Tequila Aged" sounded intriguing…
A: Black, half inch dark brown head. Great sticky lacing though the session.
S: something different, floral, sweet, hint of coffee… but almost an antiseptic finish on the nose as well.
T: upfront with sweet, astringent, and bitter(?). hard to describe, but I keep on sipping….
M: cloying, thick, and asking you to drink more.
O: different, yet still familiar. Very much a nice change from the bourbon barrel aged items. Glad I tried it, and wish I had gotten two when I found these at 5-points in Athens, GA recently.
