Enjoyed on tap at the Armsby Abbey's 3 year anniversary event on 8/24.
A - Oily midnight black with a big, fluffy creamy mocha head that slowly fades to leave nice side lacing and a good halo with clouding. Great appearance for such a high ABV!
S - Some very light coffee notes, some vanilla, some sweetness, and this very unique woody, slightly floral aroma presumably from the tequila barrel. Not quite as prominant as the bottle I've had.
T - Super light chocolate and roasty malts/espresso on the front which is quickly overtaken by some sweetness and hints of vanilla. Then boom, the latter half is dominated again by that earthy barrel and floral tequila flavours.Good wood notes and agave, and at the ABV is somewhat noticeable and chocolate returns to finish things and leave a lengthy dark chocolate aftertaste.
M - Enough carbonation to lift it up off the tongue, nice and smooth and creamy though. Coats the mouth nicely. Even with that, it is still incredibly drinkable.
O - Wow, I am impressed with this. Again. While I like the bottle just a hair better, this was still delicious stuff worth sampling.

Served in tulip, from bottle, 49°F
Didn't realize this was a discontinued beer when I recently purchased it. Have been loving Bourbon Barrel beers, and thought "Tequila Aged" sounded intriguing…
A: Black, half inch dark brown head. Great sticky lacing though the session.
S: something different, floral, sweet, hint of coffee… but almost an antiseptic finish on the nose as well.
T: upfront with sweet, astringent, and bitter(?). hard to describe, but I keep on sipping….
M: cloying, thick, and asking you to drink more.
O: different, yet still familiar. Very much a nice change from the bourbon barrel aged items. Glad I tried it, and wish I had gotten two when I found these at 5-points in Athens, GA recently.

A - Dark brown-black with a finger of frothy chocolate colored head. Fades at a normal pace.
S - Dark chocolate and dark caramel malts, roasted coffee, molasses, black licorice, oak, agave, tequila, vanilla, some dark fruit, and some booze.
T - Dark chocolate and sweet dark caramel malts, roasted coffee, black licorice, molasses, oak, tequila, agave, some vanilla and dark fruit, some citrus and pine hops and a bit of bitterness, and some booze.
M - Full bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth with a warming and sweet finish.
D - Nicely balanced big imperial Stout. Nice body and mouthfeel. The tequila adds some nice complexity.
