Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Always happy to try a new beer from Mikkeller.
The beer pours a reddish color with a white head. The aroma is pretty nice, with some cassis and cherry notes, as well as a decent amount of sourness. The flavor is even better than the aroma in my opinion. I get a lot of tart cassis and dark cherry notes, as well as some vinegar and a little bit of caramel malt. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation. Very nice.

375ml bottle. The typical label dude carrying some seriously big cassisballs, whilst running through a purple rain, seems to be an apt harbinger of things to come.
This beer pours a rather dark and muddled pinkish purple hue, with two fingers of puffy, and tightly foamy pink cotton candy head, which leaves some awesome honeycombed lace around the glass as it slowly ebbs away.
It smells of bittersweet cherries, watered-down Chambord liqueur, sharp earthy, but weirdly attractive dry funk, aged white cheese, a moderate vinegar tartness, a touch of musty leather, and mildly perfumed leafy hops. The taste is still largely on the tart side of all those consistent cherry, black currant, and lemon rind fruit notes, with a steady, but duly unloved bready pale malt flailing away somewhere in there, some evened-off dusty funky essences hanging on, while the alcohol starts to make its move, overtaking the hops that just want to maintain the status quo.
The bubbles are a bit astringently metallic, but soften a bit as we merrily go, the body medium-light in weight, and as smooth as one might expect in the midst of such an acetic acid melee. It finishes off-dry, surprisingly, the malt finally asserting itself, amongst the lingering black fruit, funk, and sidling alcohol.
One of the better iterations of the Spontan(fill in yer fruit here) offerings from Mikkeller - fruity, funky, malty, and boozy, all in measured, yet hefty doses. Maybe it's because I'm a fan of black currants, but this one just works for me, and is highly recommended if you're into the style.

A - Beautiful, rich dark amber color. Small head but lots of lacing.
S - Aromas of cherries and sourness.
T - Dry sherry taste. Plenty of sour flavors and nice, almost spicy aftertaste. Nice change from the big stouts lately.
M - A tad thin and not as carbonated as I'd like.
O - A nice beer. Easy sipper despite the pretty big abv. Definitely would have again.

Drank from my Cantillon Geuze glass
A - Pours a deep hazy Ruby colour with a pink head that reduces to a film.
S - Barnyard funk, horse blanket and blackcurrents are nicely pungent.
T - Nice sour tart flavours hit the tongue straight away. the Blackcurrents are very well balanced and maybe could be a little more evident to allow a tiny bit more sweetness.None theless the sour lovers would love this.
M - Light to medium body with plenty of carbonation. Leaves a nice film on your tongue.
O - My first Spontanale and i'm a big fan of this one, as it bears Cantillon like qualities.I will try more in this series.

375 mL bottle purchased at Ølbutikken
A - gorgeous dark pink with a pastel pink head. Decent retention and lacing. Wish it was slightly more clear but otherwise beautiful.
S - some lemon, toms of fruit, blackberry and currant. Some hay and funk. More fruit as it warms.
T - little sweetness then a sharp lactic tartness. A very oaky tart finish. Not too sour but Just about right.
M - very sharp carbonation, but just the right amount. A solid buttery mouthfeel. doesn't taste like 7.7% at all!
O - a great example of a cassis. Well blended, not too sour and a solid fruit. Only more fruit could make it better.

The ale is clouded deep red, has a high firm pink head that settles slowly and leaves loads of lacing and good curtains.
Smelling funky leather, stable, fermented black currants.
No sweetness to talk about, a very invigorating tart sourness, red fruit aroma, crushed cherry seed bitterness.
Medium high carbonation, a dry almost course texture, medium body with lots of freshness. Does not feel like near 8%.
A very nice lambic style beer.

Bottle 330 ml split 2 ways. Beautiful purple pour. Very fruity lambic. Nice grape skin, wine and leafy aroma. Taste is definitly tart (citric) with some blueberry jams that adds some depth, light lactic feel also. Another good lambic by Mikkeller. Very close to the top examples.

Almost purple in color with a fair amount of turbidity. Strong cassis and berry aromas. Grass, a touch of oak, and only a mild mustiness. Has a very strong grape juice aroma, too. The flavor is lightly sweet with a fairly restrained tartness. Heavy on the fruit flavors. Lots of cassis, blackberry, and red grapes. Some oak, grass, and must, but they seem to be covered by the fruit.

Pours a hazy, dark purple color. 1/3 inch head of an off-purple color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of currant, sweet malt, sugar, hint of sour, and a hint of hop. Fits the style of a Lambic - Fruit. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is also a noticeable tartness. Tastes of currant, sweet malt, sugar, sugar, hint of floral, and a hint of alcohol. Overall, good appearance, good body, and good blend. Not too sweet, but also not overly dry or tart. A good lambic - fruit.
