It's lambic time!!!

Beautifully fluorescent ruby colour with a billowing, lightly peach coloured head. Great head retention.

Wonderfully fresh and fruity aroma. Plenty of lemony tartness with a great berry note.

Tart, tart, tart. The cranberry flavour is distinctive and works well with the tartness. Funkiness that is complex and well integrated.

Light body with high carbonation. What you'd expect.

Lovely, fruity and tart. A wonderful fruit lambic and just what the doctor ordered.

Bottle from wordemupg, thanks Chris. 375ml into a tulip, best before 09/05/21 on the cap.

Pinkish red body with a loose white head. Dense retention and lacing. Nose is sharp initially, with some cranberry and general berry qualities. Some sweetness, lactic acidity and wild notes. Taste is quite acidic initially, before opening up into some explicit cranberry/cranberry pie/cranberry juice. Light sweetness but finishes drying and tart with some wild character and lactic. Medium feel and high carbonation, but not out of line for the style. A nice sour with some real genuine cranberry flavour.

Pours reddish orange. Big soapy head. Lambic aroma, a great mdoerate sour from first drop to last without killing the palate, very smooth. Very pure cranberry. Not so funky, good fruit sugar sweetness to complement. Masterful.
Thanks for sharing, Liam.

Pours an amber color with a small khaki head. Definite cranberry aroma. Cheesy funk with a strong mineral note. Oak, mild vinegar, and a bit of an Italian salad dressing smell. Light sweetness, too. The flavor is heavy on the fruit and oak. Mild funk, mostly cheese, but a bit of earth. Mineral oil flavor and coating on the tongue. Light vinegar, some lactic/lemon notes, dry finish.

Bottle from wordemupg. Served in a wine glass.

A - Big white foam settles to a thick cap, leaving behind splotchy lace. Hazed reddish body.

S - Tons of cranberries, of the slightly sweetened variety, with some of the wheat and malted grain sweetness in the periphery. Some mild sweaty funky brett rounds things out.

T - The taste is also heavy on the cranberries, although it's not quite as sour as I was expecting in comparison to uncut cranberry juice. Still, it's got really nice tartness and vinous acidity. Not as sweet or as funky as the aroma, but with a dash of both flavors.

M - Medium-low carbonation, dry and tannic finish, medium-light in body. It's a bit spritzier than Spontangrape, and that's an improvement.

D - Really nice stuff. The cranberry acidity helps cut some of the malt sweetness found in the base lambic blend. I'm curious if there is added sugar, as the cranberry flavor reminds me of the Ocean Spray juice more than of raw fruit.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours an orange-pink color with a white head. The aroma is very heavy on the cranberries with a light amount of tartness and some sweet sugar notes. The flavor is a little bit different. I get some sour cranberries as well as some vinegar notes and some toffee. There is also a hint of funk. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation.

375ml bottle.

This beer pours a hazy, medium pinkish-amber hue, with a teeming amount of thin foaming off-white head, which does me the service of settling at a faster than expected rate, at a suitable cost of leaving only some sparse soap streak lace around the glass.

It smells of tart, acidic cherry and lesser cranberry fruitiness, amidst subtle funky yeast, some soft candi sugar, a bit of bubblegum, and a thin, crackery, bready malt. The taste is, holy Jesus tap dancing Christ, is the taste sour! Wow. Little to no advance warning - how Cantillon-esque of you. Back on the level, only mildly atilt, I'm getting a bit more of a fruity component to balance all this acid - cranberry and cherry, still, somewhat cough-drop oriented, a result of the medicinal booziness seeping in. Some chalky, earthy hop dryness lingers meekly as background noise.

The bubbles are present, but depleted after that initial head orgy (that's what...oh, forget it), the body a clingy medium weight, and smooth, oh hell, how can you really tell, given the lingering, pervasive tartness? It finishes with a tapering fruity sourness, a smidgeon of soft funky yeast, and a subtle lactic warming.

Sheesh, I was expecting something, but not this. Good on ye, Mikkeller, for grokking the nature of a true, layered, tastebud-rending fruit lambic. I'm quite impressed, more so once I became acclimatized, and able to enjoy this without my soft palate ducking for cover.

375ml bottle poured into tulip 13/3/12

A slightly hazy pinky salmon with tonnes of tiny pinprick bubbles exploding from everywhere, hard to fit this one in the glass with its massive soapy light pink head retains very well ending up as a soapy looking film leaving lots of random lace

S some cranberry but I get more tart cherries then anything, the funky brett is working its magic but its pretty mellow

T very sour and vinegary with lots of sour cherry and cranberry, again funky but not too strong

M I know it's a sour but my god is this ever sour, very dry, leaves my mouth tingling, quite the pucker with this one and its a little over-carbonated

O sour among sours and I'm not that crazy on the fruit choice, don't get me wrong its pretty good but I prefered the grape version

I'm glad I tried this one but I doubt I'll be stocking up, try it if you get the chance but don't go searching for it

The ale is clear light red, has a high slightly pink head, leaving little lacing but good curtains.

Smelling of sharp vinegar, glue and band aid. A turpentine odor.

Starting with fruit acid, very sour bitterness. Some red forest berries.

Medium carbonation, a coarse texture, medium body, a dry finish.

In all a nice sour dry ale.

Purchased at the International Beer Shop in Perth.

Pours a solidly pleasant murky pink-red colour, with an inconsistently frothy head of white. Head forms only in large bubbles and while it stays persistently, it's not the majestic head this style of beer needs. Body is very light, as I've seen with others in this series, leaving no persistent carbonation, and with a really odd fluidity to it.

Nose is actually quite marvellous: bright lambic funk gives a sharp metallic sheen to the fruit, which pops and crackles with a plasticky aromatic sweetness. I feel cranberries work really nicely here, as they give a fruity, bright fragrance, but don't suggest at any deeper sweetness. Perfectly tagged for a lambic.

Taste is crisp and really sharply acidic—very reminiscent of a Cantillon Lambic, in a way that suggests similar cultures and yeasts. The cranberries touch the centre of the palate, leaving a sensation of licking the outside of the berries without getting to their core. Finish is redacted and constricted, leaving some tight lactic sourness, but a crisp and odd smoothness on the back.

Overall, Mikkeller give us a very refined lambic here, in the very same style as some of the most intense Belgian examples. The cranberry is a wonderful addition, in fact, as it mirrors and reflects the sour characteristics of the beer. I feel I prefer the layered effect that comes from a sweeter fruit addition, but this is one that works.

Pours a fruity red colour with soft, pleasant and feminine pink-tinged head - overly generous, but sinking nicely. Not much lace; fairly prominent bubbling of the head. Looks nice, full of seductive feminine wiles.

Smells totally of funky wild yeast - brett and Belgian esters. Musty basement, washed-rind cheese -only really a hint of that tart fruit note I was so looking forward to after the regular spontanale. Very funky and slightly musty, it's got all the hallmarks of a nice funky Belgian beer, but I'm just craving more fruit!

Taste is all tart and little of the funk, although it adds a nice anchor to the flavour. Yes, cranberry notes are distinct here, adding their characteristic tartness with a hint of sweetness underlying. Of course the yeast is the star here and it undermines it all with sharp acidity - citric almost - with a funky barnyard/corporeal kind of note late. But really, that acidity takes over, coating my teeth in a way I haven't seen since my first Cantillon. Sharp, but palatable. Pretty nice.

Pulls back on the mouth from the get-go and puckers up totally. Acidic, really; could have used more malt body to defend against the sharpness.

Good, sharp, acidic beer. Cleansing and fresh but just a little bit overpowering.

A-See through very light copper hue with very nice carbonation that leaves behind a frothy three finger head and heaps of clingy frothy lacing.

S-Cranberries,sour funk,white grapes,vinegar and barnyard funk.

T-Sour tart cranberries, sour raspberry, vinegar and finished with a musty barnyard funk.

M-Light bodied and zesty.

O-Another one of mikkeller's lambics/brews that i think is underdone and even though its interesting and the ABV is well hidden id rather the redcrrant cheers.

I tried this beer on the Borefest beer festival while I was enjoying the sunshine.

A - A nice pink/amber looking bright beer with a white head. it just looks very different, more like a rose champagne.

S - Just like vinegar but than in a more sour way. Not attempting to me. I just don't like sour beers. Why do I try it? Because I don't wanna mis anything. ;))

T - A cranberry and cherry like flavor, which is nice accept for the sour taste that comes along with it.

M - Medium carbonation, like a good champagne.

O - For a sour beer its quite good. I can understand that there is a market for this, its just not a market were I will be.
