Batch #4, October 2015. Its fermented in Anchorage, Alaska.
This is a vintage bottle, stayed in my “cellar” for long time. The foam is very rich, it will fill the glass more than half of foam. The foam disappears quickly. The beer is very pale golden color. It smells fruity, like pear, dried apricot and apple juice. And apparently it’s a Brett beer, there’s a strong farmhouse funkiness in the smell. There’s also a strong woody aroma, like white oak and cork wood. It tastes light to medium body. The beer starts with bitter, which turns to a fruity and jammy sweetness in the middle, the aftertaste is a long lingering bitterness. The beer is funky, like a warm summer barn. But I won’t link that to bathroom, it’s more like cheese funky say Brie and some Goat cheese. There’s some white pepper spice along with the funkiness, which is common for Brett farmhouse ale. The IPA have a malty backbone, it’s sweet in the middle and leaves some stone fruit aromas. I can sense apple juice, Turkey apricot, ripe pear, white wine grape aromas, that feels like sliced fruits in a cheese plate. The aftertaste is mostly hops bitter, wet hopping hops, I can get a bit of pine leafy aroma along the bitterness. In overall this Brett IPA is elegant and aromatic, I can’t find stale feeling after a long aging. There’s fizzy mouth touch, like a champagne.

Got the Anchorage brewing company blob/ monster bottle. Nice cloudy citrus haze. Some grassy, earthy tones. A bit off my pallet, but well done never the less

750 ml bottle made in collaboration with Anchorage Brewing - with a different label than is showing here - sort of a blob-like monster graphic on a typical Anchorage bottle. Poured into a teku. This is a beautiful beer. Hazy, glowing, lemonade yellow with a tall, pure white head that leaves a nice trail of lace. Smell is lemony with a hint of straw and yeast. Taste is awesome....complex and changing in interesting ways as it oxidizes. Mouth is medium body, slightly dry, nicely carbonated. Overall, a brilliant combination of hoppy IPA with brett. Fantastic beer.

Pours a hazy light yellow with copious, interminable head. Funky and smooth like a George Clinton album. The Brettanomyces does an outstanding job covering up the fairly high abv. Incidentally, the bomber I procured flounts a groovy candle label. Bonus points for that.

Almost orange color and an inch of head on a really hoppy beer, good job. Aroma was dropping the hops, sturdy, c school hops.
Taste, plenty bitter forward. Dry malt bill, not a lot of thickness and weight to it. The beer is decent, the price is astronomical. Better options at half the price, won't be revisiting this one again.

Review is from 2012.
Strong, hoppy aroma has a firm fruity note, mainly citrus but with some pear and apple. Pours a slightly hazy coppery brown with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled buff head. Strongly hoppy flavor has woody, sour citrus and evergreen notes with a hint of caramel. Smooth, firm texture has a decent amount of fizz, and finish is quite hoppy and has both bitter and sweet undertones. Let this one invade your mouth!
