Poured at Carrboro Bev Co.

Pours cloudy, muddy, murky orange with a decent white head.

Smell is so overly complex. The 19 hops impart so many fruits and pine. Grapefruit, pine needles, pine cones, and lemon zest. I will say that its not juicy fruits like I get from Hopslam, but more of a dried hop feel.

The taste is much the same. Dried hop leaves and the same flavors from the nose. Very complex hop profile, but thats to be expected when you use 19 different hops.

A: A very hazy golden brown-orange color. Looks similar to unpasteurized apple cider. Pours with a medium-large head

S: Underwhelming. Hints of citrus, grass, and floral aromas.

T: Wonderful taste. Starts slightly bitter with earthy & lemony flavors, turns into a malty, smooth taste, then finishes with a hint of citrus fruit. The malts are well balanced with the hops.

M: Really good. The carbonation is just right, and the finish is dry.

O: A damn tasty beer. I'm not sure if the price is justified, but you won't be upset if you took it home with you. My biggest problem is the aromatics fall far short from the taste.

Found a couple bottles in Indianapolis with a friend. First Mikkeller, so I was a bit taken aback by the ~$10 price per 12oz. Anyway, we bought them and one Mikkeller 20, which is almost identical in taste to the 19. I give the nod to 19 though; it has a smoother feel. Maybe that extra hop in the 20 was too much? ... the bottle label design on 19 is better too. Oh, and Kentucky made a nice little run against Louisville in the Sweet 16 once we opened the 19.

Overall, it's an amazing concoction of hops that I recommend sharing with a friend. If only I could find more of this in Ohio.
