I poured this darkness into a tulip glass. Quick note that this beer does have a little sediment so do whatever it is you do with that. So a very quick flashing of a head form and leaves quickly leaving only a slight bubble ring around the glass. The beer is really dark. Its like they brewed a pot of coffee and then brewed another pot of coffee but used the first pot as the water. The isn't an overwhelming smell coming from this beer. I made sure not to have this beer to cold I gave it a slight chill. What I can smell is the alcohol notes of the cognac. The flavor is very nice. Sometimes I feel as though barrel aging overpowers the original flavor with strong alcohol notes. This however blends perfectly. The cognac is there but so is the coffee flavor with very lovely linger that's not quit bitter. Best way I could explain it is that its like taking a sip of good cognac and you have that nice lingering burn. This doesn't have a burn but somehow a linger. The mouthfeel is thick yet lightened a bit my the cognac. Not of lot of carbonation at all.

Overall I'm really satisfied with this beer. I love the standard editions of it and this is a great variation. If you see one I suggest you buy it before I do.

A: Black with almost no head, just a few brown bubbles.

S: Cognac, roasted malt, brown sugar and dark fruit in the nose.

T: Dark chocolate, cognac, smokey, creamy, coffee notes.

M: Full bodied and fairly smooth.

O: Get the regular Beer Geek Brunch Weasel, it's far better. The cognac barrels take away more than they add.

Pours an inky black, with notable carbonation and a burnt tan colored head, of about a quarter-inch. The nose on this is magnificent, with dark fruit esters, molasses, port wine, roasted malt, and light coffee. As I take a drink, I am almost getting chills over how good this is. Before I even comment on the taste I am giving this a perfect five for this palate-coating, creamy, velvety mouth feel. Very heavy bodied. It doesn't get any more luscious than this folks. Now, for the flavor, I am experiencing a dominant and ultra bitter baker's chocolate taste, black coffee, perhaps some Sambvca, and a sharp cognac, in a unique opposition to one another. The actual taste of the cognac is much more subtle, but the bite is there... For the finish, a light milk chocolate actually presents itself somehow. Overall, I enjoyed the hell out of this brew, as I have with their Beer Geek Breakfast as well. Worth the price - don't hesitate to pick this one up!
