250ml bottle into a snifter.

Pours pitch black with a few chunks that i accidentally let slip out of the bottle. No head to speak of with just a tiny hint of carbonation around the edge of the glass.

Smells absolutely amazing with an awesome marriage of coffee and dark fruits from the cognac aging along with some woody notes. A little bit smoky as well. Really inviting.

The flavor just continues this impressiveness. Sweet dark fruit and red wine right off the bat along withs some smoky wood. The cognac barrel aging really shines through here. The coffee is noticeable but it is quite subdued. I'm not sure if this is because of the strength of the other flavors or because so little was used due to the coffee being so rare. Either way it works well. Alcohol becomes noticeable towards the finish but remains restrained.

Overall, quite the amazing coffee stout and a real treat to drink. While $13 for a small bottle is a bit steep, I believe it is worth the price and something to definitely pick up should you ever come across it.

Backlogged from notes. Pours a lifeless deep black with no head. The smell is very heavy handed in the barrel department. Huge notes of cognac which brings char, oak, and ash to the table. Notes of smoke, leather, and tobacco also come through. Not getting much, if any, of the base beer. The taste starts sweet with earthy notes of Kopi Luawk coffee. Very boozy and barrel influenced, just not really getting behind this one. Mouthfeel is thick with medium carbonation and comes off as a bit syrupy. Overall, this beer is lacking balance. The cognac buries the base beer, and the Kopi Luwak is present, but does not meld with the cognac very well.

A: Black with almost no head, just a few brown bubbles.

S: Cognac, roasted malt, brown sugar and dark fruit in the nose.

T: Dark chocolate, cognac, smokey, creamy, coffee notes.

M: Full bodied and fairly smooth.

O: Get the regular Beer Geek Brunch Weasel, it's far better. The cognac barrels take away more than they add.
