I had this porter in a shaker pint glass.
Appearance- The vigorous pour produces a brown sugar foam that stands at least three fingers in width. It is dense and puffy, and it has great retention. Not to mention, that when it finally does fall, it leaves huge chunks of sheet lace.
The body is dark, but has a definite slivers of brown highlights.
Smell- There are waves of dark malts and roast seeping out of the glass. The dark malts are sweet and give the impression of molasses and anise. The roast is soft and adds a little edge to the sweet aspect.
Taste- The drink starts with some of the dark malts, featuring molasses, some cocoa, and even anise. As the drink progresses, it picks up an earthy character and just the slightest touch of roasted malt.
The finish has some char, breadiness, and anise. The drink is sweet, roasty, and delicious.
Mouth feel- For a porter, it is very creamy. And because of this, the body feels to be a good medium body.
Overall- This porter smells great and has the flavors to back up what was promised in the nose. It is nice to have a porter with some complexity that does not just lean on cocoa flavor.
The introduction of syrupy, anise-like dark malts is well appreciated. I hope I am lucky enough to find this beer again some day.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a nice large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, black chocolate and residuals sugar is quite nice. Taste is a good mix of residual sugar notes with some black chocolate notes and timid notes of roasted malt. Body is full with nice creamy texture and good carbonation. Enjoyable but thicker and heavier than most porter with a more sweet finish.

330ml bottle poured into a snifter.
Pitch black in color, the pour forms up very thick frothy tan head that well retains itself with very good retention before slowly collapsing to an eternal foamy crown and leaving lots of lacing patch and spot on the glass-side.
The aroma is so intense and sweet with creamy chocolate, black coffee, cocoa powder, roasted, some smoke, rich tobacco, charred nut, licorice, dark bread, caramel, vanilla, and suggestion of mild grassy, earthy, spice, and citrus from hop.
Heavily roasted in the taste, it provides note of black coffee, some sourness of roasted coffee bean, dark and creamy chocolate, cocoa, some smoke, and tobacco. The taste is as well with touch of dark bread, charred nut, toasted biscuit, some caramel, yet earthy and citrus from hop. There is also some bitterness from both roasted malt and hop at the finish and it is quite lasting in the aftertaste.
Medium body, it is not that full or sticky but still has some bold touch. Carbonation is rather low but it is well enough to carry all the things well under smooth palate, very dry finish.
This time Mikkeller do it very straightforward to the style. The result is so good, well worthy, and tasty Porter.

This one pours a very dark black, with a foamy, fluffy and huge head, like foam on a milkshake, 2 inches, and a good level of lacing.
Smells pretty complex for a porter, some leafy hops, tobacco, licorice, dark chocolate, brown sugar, and charred malt.
It's nice to just see a normal beer from Mikkeller- and it's nice to see admist all the gimmickry, Mikkel can actually make a solid traditional beer here- a porter. This has a wonderful malt complexity to it- dark bitter chocolate, and charred malt. Charred malt is the usual thing with Mikkeller here- and it's certainly present but not overwhelming. It's quite herbal- I'm not sure if that's the hop thing, or the malt thing, but I like it, no matter what. It's leafy, with a bit of earthy tobacco, maybe some licorice, and lots of grassiness. It's a very lively herbal character, and it's quite enjoyable. There's a moderate hop character.
This is medium bodied, and fairly creamy, with a good level of carbonation.
This has a nice level of complexity for a porter. I definitely enjoyed it.

Has a head that looks closer to belonging to an ice cream float than it does a beer. Aromas of roasted malts and coffee, tiny bit of chocolate, subtly floral and sweet, with an earthy, leather note as well. Taste is very herbal, bitter, with a strong tobacco flavor. Full body with low carbonation. Overall, a great Porter.

330ml bottle.
A: Opaque black. 3 fingers high of head, medium retention.
S: Woody and roasted aroma. Moderate citrus.
T: Strong roasted flavor. Woody and herbal. Slightly sweet. Medium bitterness.
M: Full body. High carbonation.
O: Not a typical porter. It is strong, even stronger than many stouts. And it is not very caramelized malty, the overall profile is more similar to American Black Ale than porter IMO.
