Poured with a tall, rocky, light brown head. Highly carbonated and effervescent. Half way through the beer and there is still a never ending quarter inch head.

Minimal aroma. Toffee/ caramel/ toast with a little orange, flowers, and pine.

I'm not a hop head, but I enjoy a firm bitterness. This hop is assertive and pleasant. Fruity and floral - pineapple, orange, herbs, and a little onion/ garlic/ pine edge. There's some sort of rye or bourbon and coffee/ roast flavor, too.

For a high alpha, single hop beer, the malt, carbonation, hop flavors, and ABV are very well balanced. This is a complex beer that leaves a great hop aftertaste behind making me want to drink more. I'd happily buy 6 packs of this beer if it wasn't 6$ per bottle!

Pours deep amber with a large, lasting head.
Nose shows caramel, pine and resinous hops. Also some nutty notes.
Similar flavours; caramel, sweet bready malt and nutty notes with heavy resinous pine following. Finishes with a bold bitterness.
Could use more carbonation.

A: Dark Brown-orange opaque and hazy body. The beer pours with a yellowish-white head, tiny bubbles and decent head retention. Should be less hazy with better retention.

S: Extremely faint nose with some discernible caramel and citrus notes.

F: Sweet caramel maltiness hits the palette first with some nice citrus, earthy and floral notes that follow. Fairly complex for a single hop beer.

M: The beer rolls on the palette with medium body and a carbonation that compliments the hoppy character

Overall this is a well done IPA but Mikkeller needs to improve the aroma on their Single Hops.

A: Pours a mostly clear amber with a huge, pillowy off-white head.

S: Aromas of biscuits, caramel, lime, lemon, herbs, and navel orange are fleeting on the nose.

T: Notes of minerals, biscuits, caramel, lime, grass, lemon, pepper, white onion, and navel orange wash across the palate. The finish is earthy and bitter with intense citrus notes.

M: Medium in body and oddly slick compared to the other single hops from Mikkeller. Carbonation is decidedly firm.

O: For me, Apollo hops have always delivered a muddy rush of sharp bitterness and this is exactly what this ale does. Don't expect the flavors to separate for any length of time. It's just a bitter, hoppy ale that places an emphasis on earthy and fruity notes. It's decent enough, but lacks depth. I doubt I'll ever come back to this one.
