Picked up a bottle of this at Julio's. Shared with bpk59.

A - Pours a hazy golden orange hue with a one finger white foamy head that leaves a nice thick blanket and big clumpy side lacing.

S - LOTS of mango here. Nice orange citrus notes, very similar to heady topper just with mango instead of pine.

T - LOTS of mango, just like the nose. Huge mango notes and good pine. This is just full of bright tropical notes. Never had a beer this fresh from Mikkeller. Incredibly enjoyable.

M - Nice carbonation here for an APA. Slightly creamy but not flat or thin by any means. Really compliments the beer.

O - Overall, wow. One of my favourite beers from Mikkeller hands down. I mean, I cant get over how bright, crisp, and fresh this beer comes across. Really wish I pulled the trigger on this and went for more. $14.99 per 750mL isnt bad for a beer this tasty.

Hazy amber pour with 2 fingers of foamy head leaving behind great lacing. Smells fruity, citrusy, and slightly oxidized. The flavor is soapy bitterness up front followed by a toasted malt backbone.. Bready and caramel notes make up most of this beer with a zesty citrus hop profile that is still present. Medium/light in body with higher carbonation.
Not sure when this one came out but it honestly held up fairly well with the hops. Didn't even know this was an ipa til I tasted it.. Says malt liquor on the label.. Heh

Bottle purchase in Cedar Rapids. Pours a golden orange. Cloudy with a soft effervescence. Massive white foamy head that open up slowly. Excellent aroma. Citrusy hops. The mango and passionfruit come through a little although the hops are features. The fruit gives the aroma a clean dimension. Love it. The taste is mild by American Pale Ale standards. Somewhat like a hoppy session saison. Passionfruit mutes the malt. Finish is somewhat dry. Soft almost watery mouthfeel. This is not a problem unless you really want to bracket this beer with the pale ales. It seems to me more like a hybrid, and so I tend to be more forgiving. No hint of alcohol in taste or aroma although we are getting into higher values. So what's not to like about this beer? Not much, unless you were expecting something else.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy coppery amber with a massive three finger white head continually refreshed by active carbonation. Fun to watch. Aroma of mixed tropical fruit, mostly mango and citrus hops. Flavor is mango, passionfruit, orange with light bready malt, finishes with grapefruit rind and light grassy hops. Light bodied, but nice active carbonation. An interesting experiment of taking the tropical fruit flavors from hops to the limit by using fruit juice. Very refreshing, but maybe a bit too much of a good thing with the added mango. I enjoyed this, but probably will not revisit.

750 ml bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. 8941211 printed on the bottle cap. I found this Mikkeller oddity at the local beer store. Intriguing bottle art, with what appears to be the Death's Head moth on the label, named after a band and album that I'm not familiar with. Expectations are moderately high.

Poured into an over-sized wine glass.

A - Pours a nice thin bright burnt orange colored body with about three fingers of fluffy soapy khaki foam for a head. Very nice head retention for such a high abv beer. A bit lighter in color than you would expect from an 8.00% abv IPA, but it looks pretty nice. Hardly any lacing, but some thin strands.

S - Smell is of grapefruit, pine, citrus, some old musty herbal hop presence, some peppery rye, with just a slight bit of grain / bready malt in there.

T - Tart lemon zest, sour green apples, grapefruit, pine, pineapple, orange rind; mildly tropical tasting in the end.. A very nice hop profile going on here. I am really enjoying this one. Mild earthiness, faint rye, and a mild dose of that classic Mikkeller yeast presence that I've come to know and love. The citric lemon / lime juices become even more pronounced as the beer sits, lovely.

M - Feel is crisp and citric, with mild fruity hop bitterness lingering on the palate. Semi-tart and dry. Medium bodied with ideal carbonation.

Overall, another very nice IPA from Mikkeller. I have come to really enjoy his hoppy offerings, and this beer is no exception. Recommended for sure, I would love to see Mikkeller expand packaging to six packs of something, and this would be an ideal candidate, in my opinion.
