Appearance: Straw yellow color. Finger worth of head on the pour which is light and bubbly. Average to slightly above average carbonation in glass while drinking. Light random lacing.

Smell: Front of the brettanomyces jumps out. Lightly sour, mainly a tart dryness compliments the wheat and prairie grass/straw tones in the front of this brew. Some hops picked up on the back end but no doubt dominated by wheat and brett.

Taste: Hint of some fruit tones pops up first then quickly yields to some dry wheat which is again complimented well by the tartness of the brett. Dry wheat tones continue into the body then surprisingly quick back off the palate. The finish is some light hop fruit tones of lemon and citrus and lingering tartness.

Mouthfeel: Enjoyable transitions of dryness to easier going on the back end. Carbonation is present but plays well with everything going on.

Overall: A unique brew from Mikkeller and Shaun Hill. I didn't know whether to sit on this for a while and hopefully let the brettanomyces develop more or drink it fresh. It was crisp and refreshing with a nice amount of brett character even being so young. Doesn't really feel at all like an IPA as the label states, but who cares. I certainly wouldn't mind a six pack of these during a coming summer months.

Pours a pale gold, cloudy. Large bubbles; head is white, thin, sticky lace. Small bead. Looks a bit flat but nice.

Smells funky but pleasant. Fresh, slight tang. Citrus, pineapple, green apple. Very enticing.

Taste is funky, pleasant upfront. Decent barnyard notes, then finish is wheaty and slightly phenolic, but presaged by nice hoppy character. Fresh citric bitterness. Nice blend of funk with fresh fruity notes. Excellent palate.

Smooth enough, bit of bite on the back. Enjoyable.

Great blend of really disparate brewing styles synthesised into a pleasant, interesting drop.

A - Light haze on a light gold and wheat body. Rustic, foamy white head has nice retention and great lace.

S - Surprisingly deep. Earthy barn yard funk, sage, black pepper, lemon zest, hay, and fresh wheat.

T - Smooth bready wheat opening, funky hay center, dried grass and lemon zest finish. The bitterness is slightly waxy on the backend.

M - Medium body with par carbonation.

O - Interesting concept. The funk, waxy bitter, and lemon highlights are refreshing, but not necessarily sessionable.

Pours a clear light amber with one finger thick soapy white head, settles to a thin ring with a few blobs of lace on the glass. Smell: sweet-smelling flowers in bloom, grapefruit peel, whole melon, drying cut grass. Taste: dilute nectarine, lots of citric acidity without much definition, green banana, especially in the finish. Really nice fluffy feel, but then finishes a lot like green banana...chalky, sticky. Interesting and refreshing, but not among my favorite brett'd hoppy beers.
