Poured into a pint glass. The beer pours black with a thick, creamy light tan head that retreats slowly Some prominent lacing is left on the side of the glass during consumption. The aroma is of dark roasted malts with some coffee. I don't get much sweetness in the smell, but it is there. The first sip brings some nice dark roasted malt with bittersweet chocolate. Then there's a roasty aftertaste of chocolate and coffee. There's a touch of vanilla. The body is medium with moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. This beer is highly drinkable. This is an excellent beer.

Very dark brown color with a thick thin caramel had with short retention, but keeping a constant plate.
Initially intense aroma of coffee, licorice, light earthy hops and a muffed lemon.
Bold flavor of roasted malt with notes of coffee, decent amounts of lactic acid, earthy hops, vanilla bean, some dark fruits and chocolate cookies. Dry aftertaste with a bitterness from roasted notes.
Creamy and velvet body with appropriate carbonation.
Creamy milk and coffee brew, similar to a “pingado” concentrate or even a coffee flavored Yakult. If you like Milk Stouts, it is a good option from a brewer that masters dark tasty beers. And it could be a dessert beer as well.

A: Pours an inky black with a thick, creamy tan head.

S: Mild aromas of dark fruit, leather, coffee, cream, vanilla bean, roasted grain, and dark chocolate express themselves on the nose.

T: Notes of figs, prunes, dried black cherry, leather, roasted grain, cream, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla bean, and caramel are underscored by earthy, herbal, mildly lemony hop notes. The finish is dry and smooth with delicate hop notes becoming more pronounced while coffee, cream, dark chocolate, roasted grain, and subtle dark fruit flavors slowly fade.

M: On the lighter side of medium in terms of body, creamy, and smooth. This stout is rather dry for the style. Carbonation is airy and active. Surprisingly balanced, refined, and drinkable.

O: A near perfect milk/sweet stout, this ale displays great balance in the mouth and an exceptionally complex blend of flavors. It is not the most traditional sweet stout in the world, but it is easily one of the tastiest that I have run across in the last year or two.

Appearance: Licorice/bistre/umber with a dark eggshell/tan head.

Aroma: Profound hints of coffee and cocoa - all wrapped in glorious, but not too sweet, lactate goodness.

Flavor: Just like the aroma, but backwards: notes of cocoa hit you like a tidal wave, only to have a strong coffee backbone come in at the exact moment you swallow. As for aftertaste, the coffee dissipates fairly quickly but the cocoa lingers and increases in saccharinity on your palate.

Mouthfeel: Bold and creamy with just enough bitterness for balance.

Overall: Easily my favorite Milk Stout, and therefore highly recommended to all who are looking for a Milk Stout that is not too sweet but full in flavor.

A - Dark, dark brown with a foamy head

S - Coffee smell

T - More coffee than I care for - does not hide the alcohol at only 6% - seems stronger than it needs to be

M - creamy

O - Overall this beer is good to very good. The Coffee finish offsets the sweet milk stout in a negative way.

Pours a deep ebony color with a tight, tan head that leave chunks of lacing.

Smells of cocoa and sweet cream.

Tastes of chocolate notes layered over deep roasted note. Dark chocolate leads off with a bit of sweetness. Roasted notes come in with espresso and some roasted bitterness. Bread notes are present throughout. Leans towards the sweet side, as it finishes with some sweet cream notes.

Mouthfeel is medium with a smooth amount of carbonation.

Overall, this is a good milk stout, but the price ($5.60 for 12oz) doesn't make it a must try.
