Milky maize with a minimal off-white fizz that dies to nothing.
Smell is farmhouse funk and spice with lemon, hay and grass.
Taste is really grassy and fieldy funk, yet tart, with semi-bitter hay and grapefruit, phenols, and barn.
Super frothy, finishing semi-dry.

750ml corked and caged bottle poured into tulip 11/6/17
A hazy golden orange, finger of foam has decent retention leaving a couple random patches
S bruised mango, over ripe pineapple, lemon, bretts mellow, floral notes, maybe some cattiness, some peppery spice, I can't pinpoint what it is I love so much about this aroma but its great
T more spicy brett and less tropical hoppy notes, lots of rind and pine starts coming out
M medium weight, fluffs up but stops short of foam, fairly dry gritty finish, rind, pine, and brett
O I can't believe this stuff was bottled nearly a year ago, this must've been a hop bomb fresh and then some....
I fell in love with the nose but it couldn't quite follow through on that world class standard, that being said I did love this brew. One of those beers you want to try the day its bottles and every 6 months after, smells very fresh for a yer old......

Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a nonic pint glass.
A: Hazy golden straw in color – I might have guessed light saison or Berliner based on appearance. A good amount of visible carbonation, and a big (two-plus fingers) white fluffy head with great retention.
S: Musty and lemony Brettanomyces. Citrus hops and light biscuit malts, A touch of wheat and husky grist. Earthy and pineapple in the background. Not huge, but nice. This seems Brett-forward (rather than hop-forward or balanced).
T: Lemons and tangelos, Brett earthy funk and barnyard. Some pineapples and tropical fruit, and very light cracker malts with no husk at all on the flavor. It actually finishes fairly balanced between fruity hop bitterness and dry Brett funk.
M: Light body, low alcohol, and a good amount of fine carbonation sensation that it leads to a “frothy” mouthfeel.
O: This was a pretty decent farmhouse/Brett-ed IPA. I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as some others (the Hop Savant series comes to mind). But if was packaged in a sixer of cans, rather than the corked & caged 750 mL, I’d certainly buy it in rotation.

Brewed and bottled by Anchorage Brewing Company, Batch #5, July 2016.
Hazy pale yellow with a big, airy white head that lasts a long while and leaves heavy lacing.
Almost saison-like aroma of lemon grass, sour mix, clementines and light white pepper.
The brett is definitely the most prevalent part of the taste, with only light citrus fruitiness, white wine acidity and chalky bitterness behind it. Relatively light tasting overall. Medium bodied.
Not bad.

Drank from a 1 pt 9.4 fl oz (750 ml) corked and caged bottle purchased at Julio's Liquors, Westborough, MA
Batch #1 October 2015
Served in a tulip
I have seen many amazing bottle graphics over my ten-plus years of drinking craft beer, but this one might be my favorite of all time.
Even with a careful pour, an enormous, bright white, sea foam-like plume rose above the hazy, golden yellow body. The head slowly fell to a huge, craggily mass. Bits of splotchy, Brussels-style lacing stuck along the glass. With time, the head head dropped to an inch-tall cap and later transitioned into to a thick frothy collar.
The nose was really interesting. Nice mix of crisp, Belgian yeast notes and fruity hops. Really clean and bright. Lots of rustic, Belgian farmhouse character. Spicy and peppery. Good amount of brettyness too. The hops were very juicy and fruity. Citrus and tropical fruits were most noticeable. Orange and mango notes came through strongest. Some peach was apparent as well.
The flavor profile was similar to the nose but not quite as smooth. Big, rustic farmhouse notes dominated on the front end. Crisp and clean. Grassy. Somewhat spicy. Peppery. Moderately tart and lemony in the center. The hops kicked in mid palate and intensified in the finish. Loads of citrus and citrus rind. Grapefruit zest was noticeable. Slightly bitter.
The mouthfeel was fantastic. It was super light and fluffy on the palate. The liquid contained a super fine and lively, almost Champagne-like effervescence.
Brett-infused IPAs might a passing trend, but a terrific, funky, dry-hopped saison is timeless. While this beer is categorized as the former, it definitely fits the description of the latter. I loved my year-old bottle of this and would love the opportunity to sample a fresh one some day as well.
