330ml bottle. Made with elderberries and elderflowers. 'Foodball' is apparently a soccer event held annually (near the winter solstice, I presume?) in Denmark to benefit food charities.

This beer pours a hazy, dark reddish-orange hue, with three fingers of foamy, rocky, dense dirty pink head, which leaves a stellar array of fuzzy, webbed lace around the glass as it slowly abates.

It smells of bitter grapefruit pith, pine resin, some earthy dark fruit, a floral perfume essence, some soft yeast notes, and straight-up pale malt. The taste is more grapefruit rind, somewhat acrid yeast, sweet, musty flowers, an acidic black berry fruitiness, pale grainy malt, and some further lemon tartness.

The carbonation is average, kind of dropping off here and there, the body a culled medium weight, and mostly smooth, the fruity acerbity taking down a notch or so. It finishes just barely off-dry, the sweetness of the underlying malt and fruit/flower interplay still at the mercy of that strangely workable combo of bitter PACNW hops, and restrained yeast.

Lots going on in this one, as the addition of traditional Scandinavian elder* ingredients makes for another interesting sideshow. Bitterly hoppy, in the Mikkeller way, but not so much that the Saison qualities don't get their moment in the sun, and the guest stars doing well to work their way in. Worth a try, just pick a reason from the above and go with it.

On-tap. Flute glass. Enjoyed on agt´12. Pours ruby in color, clear appearance. Light pink froth creates a creamy, rocky & lasting crown. Copious rings on sides.Acidic notes, berries & resins to the nose. Floral fragrances. Gentle maltiness followed by remainig extra dry bitterness. Light body. Soft carbonation. Oily & buttery texture. Fresh hops in the middle linger into a dry bitter finish with tartaric touch. Fresh wood on the aftertaste. Well balanced since malts stand up on line. Refreshing.

330ml bottle poured into tulip 17/2/13

A dark maroon liquid with a pink head that's massive and retains very well, lots of soapy lace and the foam ends up as a pencil top eraser, not exactly what I was expecting but it looks great

S citric and floral hops with lots of berries, raspberry, black current, strawberry, some sweet cherry and orange rind

T what I smell but with a cherry Halls cough drop thing going on, I get a little pine and very faint booze with a little mint of all things, somewhat strange but I like it

M a little gritty and has a bitter bite, somewhat light bodied with the bubbles giving it some life

O not exactly a Saison but pretty decent stuff even if its wasn't at all what I expected, nice fruity notes and I'm left wondering what they made it with

I was tricked again, not what I thought it was but a nice surprise. I'm sure this would go better with a hot sun but I rather enjoyed this one

Brown ruby color and a bit hazy. Poured lots of thick and consistent reddish head with a long retention.
Aroma of caramels, with floral and fruity hops, mostly red berries and peach.
Sweet malty taste with a hop resiny and floral touch, also citric and fruity with hints of red berries.
Aftertaste is bitter, dry and fruity. Alcohol is hidden.
Medium body with a good carbonation with medium bubbles.
Excellent saison, very well balanced, not too sweet, not to hoppy and mildly fruity.
