a: dark, hazy burnt orange. real nice looking 3 finger thick head

s: funky and tart. the funk is that band aid-like brett smell. there is a slightly citrusy tang. a mixture of orange, grapefruit, and sweet lemon. faint hint of caramel malt in here as well

t: a little bit of a let down from the nose. flat, brett flavor. sweet malt, band aid funk followed by tea leaf bitterness. this finishes with the sweet citrus, mostly apricot. apple cider vinegar. slight bubblegum and wheat?

m: medium mouthfeel, with a good amount of carbonation

o: tasty, but average. i really enjoy the mix of tart/funk/apricot. works well. however, it doesn't just pop out as outstanding. that being said, it is a nice beer. its refreshing and savory, but not necessarily a sipper

Pours dark amber with a thick head.
Nose shows fruity, floral and earthy brett notes. Watermelon, honeydew, peach. Pretty nice.
Not much of the fruit transfers through as a flavour, its more about the earthy brett notes with sweet malt behind before a dry finish.
Could use some more carbonation.

No head really on a a clear golden with copper hues body, no lacing. Aroma includes yeast, orange, resin, some sour orange but overall a mild aroma when for this style you want the aroma to draw you in in anticipation of the flavor. The flavor is just not very sour. I had the Brux version which I felt was alot better. Notes of candied orange, yeast, caramel. Medium body and moderate carbonation.

One finger of white foam on a lightly hazy, amber body. The head settles slowly and leaves nice lace. Sweet malt, lightly funky yeast, and lots of clove. Light funk, clove, pepper and a sweet, malty finish. Medium body, modately high carbonation, and a dry finish. Not nearly as good as the Brux version, but interesting nonetheless.

12 oz. bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Hazy orange. Nice white head. Doesn't seem to have the retention that the other variants had. Lopsided chunky collar.

Smell - Very fruity. Tropical fruits, a touch of brett earthiness. Doughy malts.

Taste - More tropical fruit. Gives it a sweetness. Maybe that's malt. It does seem like it has a muddled and messy pale malt flavor. Hardly acidic at all, but the brett flavors build up along with a hop bitterness. Dries out and gets more bitter.

Mouthfeel - Feels heavy at first and then lightens out throughout the sip. Medium carbonation.

Overall - Not what I expected from something labeled Brettanomyces Lambicus. Not sour. I guess it might get more sour with age, but right now it's very fruity.

A: Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with a thin white mousse. Head retention is only so-so. A minimal amount of lace is present on the sides of the glass.

S: Aromas of caramel, cream, biscuit, oak, must, carambola, unripened pineapple, unripened grapes, and papaya are fleeting on the nose.

T: Notes of caramel, biscuit, oak, cream, lemon, lime, unripened pineapple, unripened grapes, white pepper, carambola, must, and chalk are present. The finish is dry and quenching with notes of must, unripened pineapple, oak, caramel, carambola, white pepper, and cream.

M: On the lighter side of medium and very dry. Carbonation is firm. Much like the other beers in Yeast Series 2.0, this one is very easy to drink.

O: Yeast Series 2.0: Brettanomyces Lambicus is not quite as drinkable, complex, and intriguing as the Brettanomyces Bruxellensis entry in the series. Still, this is a solidly crafted, likable ale in its own right. I can see it going over well with fans of sour ales.
