Dense-looking, hazy orange color. Thick, creamy head coats the liquid in a layer of froth that lasts forever. Leaves a rich, blanketing trail of lacing behind.

Sweet, slightly acidic aroma of apricots, pears and oranges. Slight floral character and rich buttery biscuits.

Fresh, biscuity malt flavor forms a solid backbone. Apricot jam and orange peel compliment the malt character. Assertive, earthy, leafy, citric hop with hints of grapefruit. Great balance with the malt. A little more malty and fruity than most DIPA's but with plenty of hop character to balance.

Dense, full bodied. Slick feel with a dry finish. Smooth thoughout. Grainy, yeasty texture. Well carbonated.

Solid DIPA. I appreciate that it varies slightly from the stereotype.

Perhaps the first DIPA I've ever had that I preferred a bit warm and therefore near the end of the bomber. It poured a beautiful dark orange with a significantly hefty head. The nose was resinous, piney, with a mass of sticky lupilin and honey. The flavor, as it warmed, showed some sweet orange, grapefruit sourness, lupilin, full floral hop cone, honey and a significant caramel malt finish. The feel is dry and astringent with some alcohol heat that simmers to a low roar as it warms.

This is an IPA. I can hardly pinpoint it.

It pours a nice yellow. I can't think of any smell, neither of any taste. It is a good IPA, yet there is nothing special about it.Mikkeller does make some good stuff. This is their good stuff. Nothing to go crazy about, nothing to search around. Just a good old IPA.

Appearance- Nice golden color, very clear, what you would expect from a quality double IPA, a little too much foam in the head

Smell- not too strong of a scent, strong hop smell when opening the bottle, some hint of floral aroma

Taste- very strong fresh hops flavor, high alcohol content is prominent in the taste

Mouthfeel- a light feeling when drinking but a little bit of a heavier/thicker aftertaste

Overall- a very good double IPA and delivers what you would expect from a dIPA with loads of fresh hop flavor with a small amount of floral aroma which adds a nice touch

Thanks to me for sharing this one.

Appearance - Very hazy dullish orange with a finger or so of white head. Partial cap and some lace left behind.

Smell - Prominent grapefruit pith, guava, lime, lemon, mint, leafy, earthy. Kinda funky and tart. Not too much for malts at all, unique and oddball hop profile with lots of strength and potency.

Taste - Follows exactly more or less. Funky fruity earthy hops, grapefruit pineapple bubblegum dirty hops. Eh, throw spicy and floral in there too. Light toffee sweetness and bread for backing malts.

Mouthfeel - Kind of a big feel with medium carbonation and medium-low bitterness. Not much alcohol noticeable, but kind of a sipper from the intense flavors.

Overall - Solid all around, a nice change up from your usual DIPA for sure. Lots of unique and complex hop flavor.

A- Pour out of the 750ml bottle to a few snifters with a yeast-ridden hazy golden body. Puffy, frothy white head builds up to just over a finger high. The cap retains well but eventually dies down to a creamy ring. Deposits of thick lacing sheets at the top with drizzle and spots following that.

S- Hops lead the way but there seems to be a decent yeast base to this brew. It could just be a larger than usual dose of spicy hops but it reminds me of a cleaner Belgian yeast. Beyond that hops bring stone fruit, wine grape, grapefruit, pineapple, citrus zest and floral notes.

T- A large punch of hops leads the way in the flavor as in the nose. Once again there is something that feels Belgian about this and it almost reminds me of Merica by Prairie in a way. It seems like there is Nelson, or similar, in here with a grape and tropical fruit feel. Stone fruits, grapefruit, oranges, heavy floral, herbal and stronger than most American IPA spicy hops all hit the taste buds. Light cracked grains and some yeast fruit feel.

MF- Body is somewhere between moderate and light thickness and it reminds me of the body of some Saisons. Somewhat creamy and frothy texture overall with high end carbonation which works with the hops. Finishes with a nice bitterness.

Mikkeller keeps getting better and better for me. It started off kind of rough with the prices and some of the early brews but he is pumping out a lot of great beers lately. I like the hop profile here, it isn't just juicy citrus hops but has more depth with a spicy floral feel. Wondering what yeast is used here.
