Poured from bottle into wine glass at the bayou in salt lake city. Deep ruby color with pink lacing..very effervescent. Big wine aroma with a lot if deep cherry aromas as well. Taste is very red wine like...with a big dose of cherry. Its thick abd heavy but still drinkable...just a tad bit sweet. At the same time its tart and dry. Really nice brew overall..just dont expect a cantillon. ..its good in its own right.

The pour was slightly effervescent with a rich ruby color and a raspberry tinged pink foam. The beer was insanely opaque, no light shined through it. Seriously one of the prettiest beers I have ever seen! I really love the contrast between the color of the body of the beer and the foam on top.
Wow. Insanely intense and complex. I can actually smell tanins, funk ( perhaps this is the so called horseblanket Michael Jackson described because its a bit gnarly but that's ok because I like it!), perfumed cherries and a hint of oak.
The tanins in this beer hit my tougue and were quite drying. And a huge amount of astringency hits as well, It almost reminded me of a merlot with a hint of cherry juice. There definitely was a hint of soil as well. The mouthfeel actually hits you before the flavors do. Perahaps this could use a bit of age to round out the pits even more?
Overall an excellent beer. Insanely rich. I highly recommend drinking it in smaller portions to fully savor it as this is definitely a sipping beer. I am also impressed that at almost 9 percent alcohol this beer showed no trace of hotness.

Bottle pour at the DTLA bottle share held at Beer Belly in Los Angeles, CA.

Thanks to Ivan for sharing this one.

Pours a hazy dark red with a foamy reddish-white head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, black cherry, cherry juice, and funk aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour black cherry flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that has a nice black cherry presence but isn't very sour all around.

375 ml. bottle split by 3. BBF 14/02/2021. Colour is incredible, extremely dark ruby red wine, amazing, head unfortunately does not last which is sad because it looks like raspberry mouse, this has to be one of the most incredible looking beers out there. Nose is pure cherries, light iron, pure cherry juice, mild tart and cherry jam. Taste is incredibly big on cherry juice (almost a bit what 3F Intense Red did with kriek’s), tastes like the whole of a cherry, the pit and lots of the skin as well, some bitter skin and touch of iron, spices, hint of wine and red grape skins, cherry overpowers virtually all Spontan notes, light sourness and nice tang + touch of oak. Pure juice body, touch lighter carb. Very nice, Spontan beers to be becoming more interesting lately. Dry.

First off, this looks way different than what I expected. I was expecting a lighter reddish color with a pinkish head (usually what I see in a kriek) but this is a deep, midnight purple with a pink/purple/strawberry milkish head with a bit of white on top.

The nose is oddly fantastic. At first it just smelled like a sweet red wine to me but as I really got into it there are notes of banana, grape, dark cherries, strawberry and a hint of vinegar that stings the nose.

The taste is an explosion of juicy, fruity flavors. Grape juice, blueberry, slightly tart honeycrisp apples, tart cherry juice, a bit of vinegary tartness and a hint of banana on the back end. Amazing.

This is pretty full bodied for a kriek. The tartness is just the right level and it feels like real fruit tartness instead of that over exaggerated tartness in some sours (which I also love). Delicious, juicy, tart and full. Fantastic combination.

This beer is dark ruby red in appearance as previously stated. Smells of tart cherry and reminds me of bing cherries in the springtime! Tastes is involved. Oak is there faintly but the star of this beer is the tart sour cherry taste that is exactly as one would expect. Overall this Kriek is quite beautifully done. I am biased as I am a big fan of cherries but if you are in search of a solid Kriek you won't be disappointed. Cheers
