Split with JLindros.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice almost black hue with s thin mocha blanket that left great legs and thin halo. Great appearance for a 13% beer!
S - Aromas of vanilla vanilla vanilla! A big time vanilla bomb with nice Fudgy vanilla notes, no alcohol at all, with nice faint roast malts with vanilla coffee, milky creamy vanilla milkshake.
T - Taste is just like the nose, vanilla bomb upon vanilla bomb. Vanilla chocolate, vanilla coffee, vanilla milkshake. This is incredible, alcohol is there but a warming note. Light bitter roast but a lingering vanilla finish. Wow, incredible. Just incredible, vanilla nougat here
M - Mouthfeel is outstanding for the style, creamy, rich, barely any alcohol at all. Costa the mouth in a velvet blanket of vanilla.
O - Overall I absolutely loved this beer. Rich vanilla upon vanilla here, with a stellar nose, phenomenal treasure here. Love this.

Served from bottle in a TG snifter
Pours deep dark brown with a thin half finger bubbly ecru head with min retention, moderate lacing.
Smells like a vanilla candle, pretty awesome, with a touch of booze and flaked oats on the nose. Taste starts with candi sweetness, strong vanilla notes, almost overpowering, with delightful oatmeal cleansing the palate and moderate warming booze that finishes the journey.
Very pleasant smooth, creamy, almost near watery body with moderate etoh.
Amazing strongly vanilla forward oatmeal stout with a great mouthfeel. Not worth $15 to buy another one at only 12oz but great to try once. You buy, and I will drink it....

It doesn't appear to be much out of the ordinary. It's thick and black, and by thick and black, I mean really thick and really black. It's liquid coal. The head is a bit lacking, somewhat a given considering the strength, but it's brown bubbles with little retention and no lacing.
Everything in the nose is fairly subdued and non-aggressive. Vanilla, roasted malts, toffee and chocolate are present and accounted for, but again, they show restraint.
The taste is awfully good. With the vanilla and sweet chocolate, it resembles a strong milk stout. With your eyes closed, you can see the vanilla shake being portrayed.
Extremely smooth and creamy. A bit sweet. Some heat from the ABV. While creamy, still just a bit grainy due to the high malt bill. Only when it's too warm does the heat from the ABV work the throat a bit too much. Full bodied and then some. Goes down a little too easy.
Overall, it's pretty spectacular. It's really just what I'm looking for, being a fan of the dark, chewy stuff.
