Blond pour with decent white head. Aroma is funk, hay and grapes"berries. Taste is medium acidic, mostly citric, light sweet berries and grape skin bitterness. Dry bodied and decent carbonation. Nice gooseberry display and very close to a traditional fruit lambic. Another hit from the underrated Mikkeller spontan series.

Pours a cloudy, maize/gold color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of citrus, sour, pale malt, sweet malt, hint of hops, hint of grass, and a hint of floral. Fits the style of a Lambic - Fruit. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is a noticeable tartness and the dryness level is appropriate. Tastes of sour, fruit, sweet malt, tartness, hint of hop, and a hint of floral. Overall, good aroma, feel, and body.

In high Belgian form, Mikkeller's spontaneous ale series this time relies on the tangy, winy and grapelike goosenberry. As its mysterious microflora sours the ale to near perfection, the taste of the showcased berry remains front and center.

Its rusty golden pour is suggestive of the rustic ale of the ancient Senne Valley. And once those tangy and dry wine notes pierce the olfactories with overt tart berries, but also with chardonnay, crabapple, dried citrus and hints of vinegar once the early taste buds get involved.

Over the middle, the brunt of sourness relaxes and a candied grape taste gains steam- this from the goosenberry, given a bit of life from supple malt sweetness and dry bread taste. Grain and hops weave together to suggest straw and hay, just as the funktified and more raw tastes of saddle leather and cellarlike must wafts about.

Quick and highly refreshing in finish, the beer's vinous acidity dries the taste with utter ease. With a glimpse of wheat and berry to return in aftertaste, the palate is stripped of its thirst with pleasant tartness and a mild peppery tinge.
