Draft at the brewpub in Old San Juan.

Pours a pale hazy golden yellow color with a frothy one finger head that has very good retention, slowly fading into a lasting cap. Sporadic spots of lace left behind.

Slightly earthy aroma with subtle spice as well as some bread/yeast character. Hints of coriander and pepper as well as some earthy grain. Smells more like an American adjunct lager.

Medium bodied and fuller than expected with a subtle sweet citrus presence. There's some faint hop bitterness up front as well as some peppery lemon zest spice. I'm also picking up some sweet citrus peel, especially lemon, and some bready yeast. Toward the end of the palate there is a really odd dry alcohol astringency and strong, earthy grain flavor. It tastes kind of like an adjunct lager with more of a hop and spice presence.
