Pours a dark chocolate brown, creamy head, nice cascade effect in the glass. Aroma is light and faint black coffee.

Taste is dark, bitter, dry black patent with a slight touch of chocolate malt. Bitter coffee flavors, charcoal, dry finish. Not a lot of sweetness anywhere.

Mouthfeel is creamy, achieved with a nitro addition (and a sparkler). Good, sessionable heft, not so heavy as to hit the drinkability. Tastes exactly like a dry Irish stout should.

A nicely poured pint, opaque dark brown to black, enduring head.

Smells like a nice dry stout. Tastes like a nice dry stout, all coffee-and-cream and roasted goodness, with a creamy but not overbearing mouthfeel. Comes out very well on the drinkable side of things, but no sacrifice of flavor. This is definitely a beer that can (and for me, usually will) stand on its own, but I enjoyed it very much side-by-side with a burger for lunch. Wish I'd had time for another...
